Oh it's so good to see I'm so not alone! It's been wonderful walking in to a spanking clean non cluttered house and walking into walk in closets was just something I could do after I removed a few boxes and things. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img]

It's so much easier & faster to clean the house when everything actually has a place and when I've had to look for something I can usually go right to it.

I just came in from the garage. Got my car parked out there blasting the CD's and gee, I might even be finished with that by the end of today!!!

Then just one more garage to go but that one is just a teensy bit messed up. Any time now I will not have a mess anywhere, inside or out, my dream!!!

Tonight or tomorrow I'll take a pic of the antique treasure that started this whole thing that has taken up most of the past month (but I did take time regularly to PLAY too!) It actually got me out into the world again since I had to leave home to do the best job on refinishing it!

Moving from the Apartment we had with my mom was tough. We had 16 years accumulated there!
The last move I stored a lot in the attic, now I'm down to 3 rooms and not a lot of closet space.

The house my brother & his wife renovated (her uncle's) took 5 full dumpsters full of CRAP before they even started the demolition. Most rooms and the basement were soo full you couldn't get into them.

This is the culprit that started all of this cleaning and organizing. In this spot used to be a 6 foot long table that always looked messy no matter how much time I'd spend organizing!

Not the best pics but no time to do it over!



The pretty tiger striped oak front. The copper handles are original but not the wooden ones that need another coat of stain, it was easier just to buy new wooden ones than do all the work to the old ones.



I still need to get more hooks for my strands of beads but I had none before. I was using a one foot long bamboo stick for them before, and some were in baggies I had long forgotten about.



Because of this one thing, now my house is always clean and orderly & it's been staying that way all by itself! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/bannana_purple.gif[/img]

And...since it had been out in ther garage for the past few years, I even ended up cleaning the garage too, once I moved so much stuff to get at it!

Q.K, I'm afraid that when the time comes, my brothers and I will be left with a mess like you are talking about. My parents took over my grandparents home, so now there are 2 generations of stuff in there. They have a 4 bedroom home and just the other day my mother said she hasn't got an extra room for anyone to spend the night. So I ask her why not, and then she said the bedrooms are so full of stuff you can't walk in them.

I know what a lot of the stuff is, and it scares me cause I'll end up wanting it! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Wow Nan, that is gorgeous! (I hope you saved the original knobs?) Good for you. I may have to ship you out here to help me get my studio organized. I KNOW what needs to be done, it is the getting to it part that evades me. Oh, and the money to buy the storage pieces necessary. Some day. The rest of my stuff is not tooooo bad. A few moves and a microscopic cellar have helped that. Can't wait until I have a garage or shed or something....
