do u have lavender 7777? I put two big lavender bushes on either side of the front steps last year and that was heavenly. each time u brush past them they release that wonderful smell.

I had planted two sumac (?sp) shrubs the year before and the wind killed them off [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif[/img] I was so upset but the lavender was a nice replacement.

I have planted lavender before, but my husband and the lawnmover always run it over.. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad2.gif[/img]
I got some lavender rosemary, and bleive it or not, I had it inna de front yard, and it seems to have wilted.. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70456-eyebrows.gif[/img]
I thought someone told me tht lavender is a great to plant for good luck..

Nylah if you were lurking five or so years ago you'd have seen a long thread i did on the different varieties of amaranth, starting with callalloo. i did quick peek on wikipedia and there are apparently about 60 kinds of amaranth, including grain amaranth. i also remember that there are decorative varieties that are used in gardening.

yes but in the early spring we did seed dem in pods and put dem in a sunny spot

we didnt do any extra fertilization but I think the standard fertilizer work...

but this year we going to use some bug spray (natural kind) on them so the bugs dem no mash up the pretty leaves dem

that is interesting though cause I had no idea that there was that many varieties of amaranth. Most health books just mention the standart grain type. Thanks HemGee, this gives me something to go research now.

do u move your herbs inside during the winter or are u referring to them coming up again in your garden?

Cause I am in zone 3, most herbs are annuals for me unless I move them inside. I cant be bothered most times especially since I can get the herbs for really cheap each year. $2 per pot.

hail fall yessideh [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img] alla mi plans fi plant di calalloo dis weekend mashup caw mi nuh trust disya wedda yasso. we bout 10 degree less dan normal.

but inna di meantime di tulip dem happy, daffodil and crocus done. di thyme and mint survive di cowl and mi was able fi plant some tomatis and lettuce.
