Let's talk about house plants...

Ok ..first thigns first..how do unoo get the dust off a di leaf dem? mi wipe one a dem off wid a damp cloth the other day cuz di water spots were getting to mi.

Next..a few of mine died during the winter...apparently that part a di house did too cold for them to thrive. What unoo recommend to replace them? Something hardy and durable...not those viney runner things.. I have enough of those.

I have a few of those in the bay window..low maintenance and year round green

But mi need some fi mi foyer..any suggestions?

up here dem call dem Spider plants, no idea what the real name is. but dm green and leafy and very hard fi dead and they bloom baby spider plants

the house plants I currently have are

that runner vine creeper thing x 3

3 croutons (but one look like him soon kick the bucket)

2 dummy or eediat cane (mi noh memba how di name goh)

4 x spider plants

I really want to do gerber daisy's in-doors

a ficus tree
a norfolk pine
asparagus ferns...or any fern
heart leaved philodendron
crown of thorns...maybe not for you skells cause of the kiddos
lipstick plant
goldfish plant
begonias

ORCHIDS

go forth and purchase

mi see one cactus plant but mi sure seh di care instructions (of no care required) is a bit deceiving.

i would think it would be pretty hard to kill a cactus.

A peace lily is hard to kill as long as you water it evenly. There are so many. Even a hibiscus will last for years with care. I am also now on Loopsie's bandwagon aout orchids! I have two and thought they were hard to grow (they aren't)!

I lost a cactus once </div></div>

me too...

and an orchid just the other day..

yep I kill plants as I never remember to water.

I have one outside that I water on Fridays .. let me see how long it lives

we're talkin houseplants, aren't we? you got heat in your house?

only problem i have with houseplants in the winter is the lack of humidity, since i burn wood. i try to keep my houseplants in a cool spot...away from the furnace registers.

yeah kia....water helps.
