I figured I would take you guys through the work we have already done, and by we, I mean Red.

Kitchen when we moved in. The room in the background with the hardwood floors will be open to the kitchen and will become the new dining room:







Through the doorway is the current dining room, which will become part of our new kitchen:



Dining Room


Yes, there is a toilet in the dining room. It goes in the half bath we are putting in off of the kitchen. Although sometimes I think a toilet in the dining room isn't such a bad idea.

I am so glad Red has the knowledge to do this sort of stuff. I may watch a lot of home improvement shows but that is about it. Not only that but he ENJOYS this sort of thing.

Now the great tile debate. I did have some input on the flooring. Actually Red and I really disagreed over this. We each picked a tile that we liked and spent days trying to get each other to see why it was the right choice.

I won't tell you who &quot;won&quot; but I would like your input. I think both of our arguments were very strong. I'd like to hear yours.



The tile will start in the foyer, replace the hardwood in the &quot;new&quot; dining room, and continue through the kitchen. I think it was something like 700 sq feet of tile ordered.

The tile on the left goes better with the countertop. The tile on the right is a more newtral color that will go with everything.

I like the one on the left.

Left! Stick with the same base tone. The ivory/beige tones look like the counter was an afterthought! Lookin good!

ok so you dont have to decorate around anything.. Given what is in the pic I would go with the left.
