now that I have looked at the gas range, I think I would prefer a cooktop in gas on one place in the kitchen and then the glass range. From how I do things, I would like the oven and electric part to be together.
I can live without the cooking aparatus being as one unit. If my kitchen was bigger, I would like the double wall oven and the gas and electric cooktop in the centre island. But if I couldnt have that then I would keep the gas as a cooktop in the centre and combine the glass stove top with one oven and then have a 2nd wall mounted one with the microwave beneath it.
i can not bake bread in a electric oven unless it is a electric convection oven. i love my gas stove in jamaica. i have a maytag electric stove with double oven in the us .the upper oven is a convection oven and cooks more like a gas stove .my daughters husband said it moves the air much as gas does when burning<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Q.K</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I've heard the perfect combination is a gas cooktop & electric oven. The electric oven keeps a steadier more even temperature so it's great for roasting & baking, where the gas flame is easier to contorl for stovetop stuff that gets adjusted all the time.
