Couple issues I am having now....the bulk of our order was done through HD. It will be picked up today. The vanity and mirrors r from Lowes. It was supposed to come in yesterday but won't be in until next wed/thur :madashell:
Anyway we have a shell right now....just the insulation...which we discovered was sparse in some areas. Don't know if u guys remember a thread I did about the wasps in the bathroom...now we see how they got in..there was a 1 inch gap where the window and the outlet was and that was where they made their nests before I sprayed out di whole a dem baxide...bright! So now we have to add more insulation to the project....

Next the wiring that was done ages ago was shoddy so we may have to call in an electrician to reconfigure the wires...the subflooring needs to be replaced where the toilet due to wood rot..as was suspected...
We are down to one bathroom and already di man and me start quarrel over it. My main concern is the dust. We try to keep the girls down in the playroom away from all the work activity but I am sure there is some lingering effect....I thought of putting up plastic panels and taping off the bathroom but the workman needs in and out access. What would be an effective method of containing the dust??? Anyone with experience in this dept please feel free to chirp in!
put up the plastic panels and tape it with an overlap entrance/exit for the workman. yes some dust will get out but it will be a lot LESS dust with the plastic barrier

Had quite a bit of setbacks...my boiler caused a delay in work for a couple days...whole house stank of fuel and had to ship the kids off til we got the scent out...
My grandmother is in the hospital dying of cancer and the whole family is preparing for her death....my uncle who is a plumber was doing some work in the bathroom and since this is taking place he has been absent so we had to work around his tasks until he finds the time to come and finish up his work...
The shower panels that came were the wrong ones...we wanted a rain pattern frosted glass but we got plain panels instead...Home Depot says it will take another 2 weeks to get here :fuming:
Then the vanity that came in from Lowe's was poorly madeist: ...it took 6 weeks (3 weeks longer than promised) for it to get here...the reason I had to do a special order was because it was an off white color...very hard to come across...I have no patience so I am just going to go with a very dark stained vanity to match the bronze...
I am feeling jaded right now...I just want this to be over with...and we haven't even started with the real major stuff...
I am rethinking the extension and maybe will end up putting it off for next year....if we can't finish a tiny bathroom in a couple weeks when the heck will we finish the garage and the other rooms????
My deadlines are pretty much non existent now..I was hoping to have both bathrooms and kitchen done by the end of April...not possible now...
I am just overwhelmed...

New fireplace....pics and mirrors on wall have been there when the tv was there and eventually I will be moving them...will be changing the color also, removing the wood panels (not shown) on the back wall and adding two skylights to get some natural light into that room
