saw it up here...u know wat has shocked me about the move here, the dirth of yarn shops...fi real...i thought Canada would have dem like dirt given the cold weather and the whole heap of Europeans who live here...mi sista ha patients who been here fi generations an no speak nutten but German an u would tink dem would even sell some spun yarn...no dice...juss Walmart, Michaels an Zellers n the choice is limited ...even needle size, lengths fi di circulars etc...such a disappointment..at least wen she was in Sask some of her older ones would give her yarn since dem knew she knitted and i use to love to dye those..virgin homespun wool...ooooh la la

Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2/0 (double zero).

Yellow felt . . . Bone ring.

GAUGE: 5 ½ sc make 1 inch; 6 rows make 1 inch.

LARGE BANANA (Make 4) . . . With Canary Yellow, ch 29, drop Canary Yellow, attach Fudge Brown and ch 6. 1st row (Wrong side of work): With Fudge Brown sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 5 ch, keeping unused thread on wrong side of work, drop Fudge Brown, pick up Canary Yellow, sc in each of next 13 ch, 2 sc in next ch (an inc made), sc in each remaining chain. Ch 5, turn (tip of banana). On all even rows, work in back loop of each st. 2nd row: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 3 ch, 2 sc in next sc, sc in each remaining sc to within last 6 sc, 2 sc in each of the next 2 sc, sc in each of next 4 sc, drop Canary Yellow, pick up Fudge Brown, sl st in each of next 6 sl sts. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in each st across to within last 4 sl sts, sl st in each sl st. Ch 1, turn (tip). 3rd row: Working in back loop of each st, sl st in first 4 sl sts, sc in each sc across to within last 3 sts, increasing 1 sc in center of row, sl st in last 3 sts. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows alternately 2 times more. Break off at end of last row. With Fudge Brown and right side facing, make 6 sc along edge of tip. Turn. Next row: Sl st in each sc across. Break off.

With Fudge Brown, embroider markings in stem st on Bananas as illustrated. Arrange Bananas in a bunch, having Large Bananas overlap Small Bananas with tips hanging free and first and 4th Large Bananas meeting at top edge of bunch.

STEM . . . With Fudge Brown and right side facing, make 9 sc across top edge of first and 4th Bananas, ch 8, sl st in first sc. 1st rnd: Sc in each of next 2 sc, work off next 2 sc as 1 sc (a dec), sc in next 4 sc, 8 sc in the ch-8 sp. 2nd to 5th rnds incl: Sc in each sc around, decreasing 2 sc evenly spaced on each rnd. Break off at end of last rnd, leaving a 10-inch strand. Thread into a needle and sew up opening. Line with felt. With Brown, sc closely around bone ring. Sew in place.

- work 1/2 day then pick up mi trans (male to female) fren who i met on craigslist (in di platonic section ). yes mi life full of followers of di alternative
- we embarked on a road trip to mi old stomping ground. she hadn't been to portland before so mi carry har.
- mi fren dem in portland did a combined sabbath and birthday dinner. mi mtf fren was comfortable as di talk turned to a trans bar mitvah di next day. it was normal like talking bout going to di store. my frenz are so cool so she told them about her being trans

- mi carry mi fren dem to mi old community center fi kick boxing and we proceeded to get our butts wipped
- mi show mi road trip buddy a few sights in town (di big indepent bookshop and such)
- den it was dinner for a select few frenz at a jazz club. drama ensue yasso but it was a fun time all around

<span style="font-weight: bold">sunday:</span>- breakfast at a mom and pop spot
- road trip further east in oregon fi see di falls and such
- did some tax-free outlet shopping
- hang out likkle and say hi to one ex mi may tek back
- hit di road home in time fi ketch di last touchdown pon superbowl

wen i lived in St Louis i lived in the Central West End on the 'good' pawt of Laclede Avenue it was all cobbled stone and artsy and it was overwhelmingly gay in many a way...
