and they are so unnecessary! My bedroom is deliberately stark. I have one bed, one night stand, and maybe I'll consider an upholstered chair.
That closet in the previous bedroom photo has only shelves for folding clothes ... and the bathroom has drawers below the for more folding clothes. There is another closet is for hanging clothes. Here is view of bedroom towards hallway and front of house. The walls are painted a light gray with touch of blue (Benjamin Moore - Sweet Innocence) and the bedroom feels calm.
I showed my neighbor my bedroom and she said, "This feels like a beach house" and I think she is right.

Some more pics of the master bath. There is a walk-in shower, grab bars around shower and toilet, glass tiles in shower area and around counter, large rectangular tiles (2'x1') on the floor. Those same floor tiles are in my kitchen as the back splash
.
The shower also has a narrow built-in bench.

The shower tiles are opaque but appear with a tinge of green from the waterproof drywall they used as they configured the new bathroom.

The guest room across from the hall bath. This wasn't part of the remodeling project except that I had the doorway widened for wheelchair access in case Mommy visits. This room has had so many phases over the 22 years I've lived in this house:
* nursery for new-born (walls painted off-white)
* boys room for pre-school age children
* younger son's bedroom ... wid di usual bunk beds (walls painted blue)
* home office for the late Mr. PZ
* home office and sanctuary for me (walls painted creamy yellow - Behr, Havana Cream)
* and now it is a guest room.

Lawd missis, I am sooooo happy with my new house
Isn't it strange how one can become emotionally attached to a place? Dis likkle house is where mi puddung roots in a strange land, where mi grow mi pickney, where mi have abundant joys, and where mi weather crisis upon crisis.
More joys, crises, and even grandchildren
in the future for sure. With the good Lord's help an guidance mi hope mi can deal wid life as it comes

I'm glad I chose a design professional (and then offered her the contract to build out). She is a gem and kept within the budget. Her approach was to reconfigure the existing layout without changing the footprint of the 60-year old house. She spent several months in the design phase and checked in constantly for my taste, etc. I like an open, modern feel, but there must be warmth and the house must feel cozy and welcoming. I grew to trust her instincts about design - for example, I like warm colors and she felt that cool colors would work very well in the house. She was right.
I'm going to try to dig up some 'before' photos of the living area for comparison.Comment

Him no have no visa and him no eligible fi Canadian citizenship yet and we nah give <span style="text-decoration: line-through">visa shap</span> the US embassy one penny more applying for visa
so unless we going put off the trip till 2-3 years time. Plus him no have any vacation time
