Kia, I remember when I was growing up, we were talked to real good at home and were taught to stick up for ourselves. I can remember being put out of Math class by this White teacher that lied and said I cursed in class "the woman was always picking on the Black students. I sat in the vice principles office for about 3 days straight because I refused to say I was sorry.
The vice principle " He was Black" knew that I didn't say such a thing but talked me into going to class. At the time I hated him too, all she would have done was give me afailing grade and she would have won.
My grandmother and mother was proud that I tried to stick up for myself.
