well...in some cultures it is/was commonplace to do so..

oh btw they also have a milk bank for mothers who want to give their child breast milk only
i would do it
there are good antibodies in breastmilk to help protect the little ones
case in point: this week all a we was sick but the baby fared better than all of us did...she only puked twice while we did for days...
doctor seh is di breastmilk give her immunity...
breast is di best...no matter di chest

mi get the concept and why it important it juss leff mi feeling queasy.
on the other hand if my baby was in NICU and the Dr seh she needed that to improve har chances mi would get ovah mi queasiness like yuh wouldnt believeComment

and had to stop - well, was SO ready - cos he literally took all my "fat" out of me,
I was 48!!!
kilos by then.....(dunno anything about american pounds weight-wise) - but that was THIN!!!
(definately anorexic-looking....!!)
What is even more amazing....
I went to "breast-feeding" support group in my neighbourhood, and the woman told me...even today!! (17 years after), if I had a babe on my tit, the sucking reflex would take off if I had a baby on my breast...!!!!
Yes, God worked it all out perfectly......

After the breastfeeding incident, she admitted she'd had mixed feelings. 'I thought about it,' she said.

'Am I being disloyal to my child by giving my milk away? I actually think my baby would be very proud to be able to share her milk.
'When she grows up, I will make sure she continues to share and be a caring and generous person.'
Wetnursing, or cross-feeding, was common practice at the beginning before the Second World War until the introduction of artificial milk.
Miss Hayek said that she had been inspired by a story of her great-grandmother.
She said: 'My great-grandmother was in a Mexican village and they found a woman in the street who was inconsolably crying and the baby was also crying.
'My great-grandmother asked what the matter was and the mother said, 'She is very, very hungry and I have no more milk'.
'And in the street, my great-grandmother breastfed that baby who instantly stopped crying and went peacefully to sleep. I was really impressed by that story.'

it def does help you to lose weight, but it shouldnt make you look anorexic.
with breastfeeding one has to be careful to eat a bit more as well as eating healthy, good carbs, proteins etc
