would you send your 9 year old girl or boy, around your neighborhood on their own to ask ppl to support their fundraising activities?

I just had a neighborhood girl come to the door for that reason. I was shocked to see that neither mom or dad were shadowing her as she was going house to house.

Do you know and trust your neighbors enough to do that??

daylight, after school, 4-5 pm when neighbors are out, sure.

but not at night, oh hayl no. is not the neighbors i'd be worried about.

exactly. it is 8:00pm here and yes we have daylight to well into the evening but I still dont think that is kosher.
Cause we have sunlight for long periods of time here, it can create a false sense of security.

Still nuff predators within your neighborhood or prowling the area to contend with.

Trust me, I was well surprised that this young girl had no one with her. I asked her where mummy n daddy were and she said at home

well mi is not a parent and even <span style="font-weight: bold">I</span> know better than that. them nah righted.

my bro doesn't even let his kids walk to the bus stop, he drives them the two blocks and wait til bus come and he sees them get on. i say he spoiling them and makin them lazy and creating a sense of entitelement. (if i was a parent i know i'd be a real strict one.)

he says he cares more about them safety -and rightfully so i af to admit- than turning them into pampered spiled brats.

There are too much weirdos
Bre is in that age group and no way would I make her do that.
As a matter of fact I am usually the one who usually does those thisng for her ir make her call family and friends and ask dem to support.
We live in a 3 story apartment building with 6 apts on each floor and its jus recently That i allowed to go sell cookies on each floor by herself and I told her whose apt door to go knock on and each floor she goes to she has to come back home before she goes to the next one.

I dont blame him
we jus have to go downstaurs and cross the road for Bre's bus stop and I dont allow her to go alone...she hates that I go with her as she says I dont think she is responsible
I told her she has to go out there and stand and while sh eis there waiting anyone can grab her in the early morning.
Now getting off the bus i jus started to allow her to get off by herself as she gets dropped off at our drive way and the bus driver watch her til she enters the builidng. If I am home I will go watch out for her and then hurry and get back in the apt before she sees me

The way its done in today's screwed up molest a child before they can walk society is.....take the candy to your place of employment and sell it there.

we have one kid that comes door to door to sell cookies (btw he wins all the awards for sales) . He may ring the doorbell but his dad is within eyesight distance making sure he is safe

first abu is not going through the neighborhood selling anything

second everyone is selling the same thing at the same time and i'm not forcing stuff on coworkers

I used to sell stuff when I was a kid for marching band fundraising that was outside of school system.

We didnt have any need for school fundraisers back in the day when government funding for schools was much higher.

But even then someone would be 20 feet away cause there was no way I was gonna knock on anyone's door without a parent near by.....And my parents knew our neighbors and such.

Nowadays, I'd be like Seveen, why you need to send your kids to do this kind of stuff when there are better options.

However, when any kid comes to by door, I always buy what they are selling because I remember how bloody painful I thought the whole process was when I was a kid poor things cant even open their mouths to ask the question so I dont torture them any further and just ask how much

But I also see these as the kind of kids that may not put up much of a fight or scream if someone tries to harm them

in the old days when everybody on u street know dem one another, selling stuff door to door might have worked. but nowadays... bwoy, people live cross from me the last 6 years and mi still no know dem. and mi live in a cul-de-sac.
