Dudd yes it is a health issue and the boys in the group are aware of that.

Tanya and Stormmey.. what age is good for a girl to wear makeup. I know these girls are 8th graders so they are about 13. I feel it is too young.


As an aside if you took certain liberties as a teen does that give you the right to naysay those same behaviors to your chidren? Think the hanging out bit and such.

The neighbor ofthe two boys used to hang out when she was 14 and smoke so it is not a big deal to her but at what point do you set the balance?

Kia you can only instill the values/morals/virtues into your own children and they in turn will select friends that reflect the same.

as to the makeup - 14 is a good age, it is better for you as the mother to allow/encourage it than to have them behind your back caking it on in the wrong shade/thinkcness/whoreish looking fashion.

Like my neice (for example) she has always known she can ask me for anything (girly) and I will get it for her (with in reason of course) for her grade 9 grad I offered her a trip to the Mac counter to get the full deal but she said "No thanks, I don't want to look like a cake face". She instead choose a nice mascara eyeliner and a nude lipgloss.

If later you are able to see a benefit if you were had such an intervention, it is justified to intervene.

just because you were not fortunate enough to have had that opportunity is no justification to withhold it from the young.

Usually the people who are the best at correcting wrong behavior are ones that experienced it.

sometimes even many people who are guilty of present indulgence have to warn others of the dangers. I see this every day.
Physicians who are wracked with conscience,about exhorting patients of the benefit of diet and exercise, while they have not seen real benefits of such acts in their lives.

I wonder if the boychild is too serious though
