i have to go get ready to go out tonite. i'll try to give an update tomorrow. but suffice to say, today i helped a dawta get her own place to live and it was NOT married dawta.

correct. and she no 19 yet. she was determined tho. she has a bachelor apt in an up and coming part of town. more convenient to her summer job, will be closer to her school. she figured the commute to the burbs almost cost her a course in her first year.

i worry about her security too. mi tell har fi watch out fi di super. also, be careful about tekking man back to her place caw it can become a trap. she's got a head on her shoulders, and is generally a cautious girl.
her place is a bit in the gay district, and also close to some low-income apt buildings. very mixed neighbourhood that i take some comfort from.
her puppa blew a gasket when she told him she was moving out on her own, thought she was too young and too expensive and her schooling would suffer. i think, though, that he will find ways to check up on her, as her place is on his way to work (and mine too).Comment

so, update on married dawta. she's separated. still loves her husband (she says), but cannot live with him. he's moved out.
she was at Caribana (that's her on the left). apparently he was there and was surprised to see her. thought she looked great but his main concern was other guys.
peer drama since their marriage in November.

as long as younger daughter keeps the lines of communication open and enjoys the visits from her mom & dad I think she will be fine.
sorry to hear older daughter is separated but sometimes you have to learn your life lessons on your own . Do they plan to divorce?

cho, mi not even know. i think she wishes they could be together, but is happy without all the drama. the two of them have very bad temper, dont want to compromise, and each think fidem view of a situation is the correct one.
he still has stuff here, and he apparently comes to visit when i'm not here, so i guess they are keeping a door open.Comment

this is the answer i got when i asked: "well, i wont go out of my way or anything to divorce him. if i meet someone new that i fall in love it, well then..."
his immigration paperwork is in and they are hopeful that he will get his landed without an interview (altho i dont know how that can be avoided, she's a student, how will she be able to support him? that's what the immigration people i'm sure will want to know, if they don't turn him down outright.)
she's a pretty girl, but has some self-esteem issues. lots of jealousy.Comment

i was pulling for them. after all the talk mi did talk to her about not marrying him, i guess i had convinced myself that they must love each other and would make a go of it if indeed they got married.
i was also looking forward to good looking grandchildren.
his family had a bit of a setback earlier this year: his mom, grandma and siblings got evicted. i took in the siblings for the sake of "family" and helped them and the mother get their own place.
but dawta and hubby fought all the way thru the time the siblings were here. young people are so self-centred.

I think, based on what I see from you on the board, that you raised them to be very independent and open minded women. From the little I read, I just didn't get that vibe from the groom. (I could be wrong though).
You did a fine job with both of them. Look how youngerMgee calculate out her savings by moving closer to school (my kinda girl that with the finance)
Doesn't her school have dorms on campus where she can board ? Or even off campus housing run by the Univeristy ???Comment
