is about seven or eight months now dem going out. it feels fast to me too. a suppose the immigration issue is driving the train. he's not illegal, he managed to have his student visa renewed despite his, umm, incomplete first year. but im cyaan work under the terms of that visa.

and a guess now that they have found each other as soul mates, there is an underlying sense of urgency about getting him regularized.

Skelly, mi tell har more dan one time fi leff im. i told her their relationship was unequal in terms of their status, education, worldview, all kind of things. she listen, she agree with me, but i guess she feels at some point it will all be sorted.

dem bruk up couple times but seem to find their way back to each other. i rationalize that it must be true love they are feeling, caw if all im was interested in was paypas, im coulda easily find smaddy else fi fit the bill.

mi a wait fi see how september go, because mi get relentless with the questions about whether he is going to college. mi cut mi losses in terms of mi hopes for a university educated soninlaw, mi wi accept smaddy with any post-secondary education.

he is very respectful to me.

a true enuh tanya. mi even seh to miself that mi haffi low har fi mek har own mistake.

she still haffi introduce him to har daddy. now that is the big test. so mi haffi a prepare miself fi support har, even if it turn out dat har puppa share my pov.

I agree with the “be there for for her” but I have to say, I’m sorta of a “Jonetta Patton” when it comes to this kinda situation. I can’t see my self going to someone’s wedding that I feel is doomed or wrong or ill timed.

You can be supportive of someone without supporting their bad decisions.

to tell the truth, mi not too sure bout the immigration piece. like i said, he's not here illegally, he had his student visa renewed. it just means he is technically here temporarily. i think the biggest advantage of marriage/permanency would be it would mean a reduction in his school fees, and it would allow him to work.

unconditional love carry nuff pain widdit, that's all mi can seh.

they've mastered the art of the cheap date - movies, walks, going to places accessible by transit. i don't ask, though, who pays.

nunya, i've been in denial so no, mi no talk to him people dem. to what mi hear from mi dawta, there are some complicated family dynamics, and mi waina pray mi dawta would come to her senses so mi wouldn't have fi get involve.

we have fiwi owna potential drama in her daddy. so a dat mi a brace fa now before mi get to the matter of boyfriend family.

neva get into di program im want, the consolation program did too hard, im coudnt afford textbook. dat a feem story.

me being a somewhat generous person (aka, sawfas), i've added the following elements - im was new to canada and had trouble navigating the system and society, im was living with a granny who was a stranger and very hard on him, he got overwhelmed.

a who did mek di point about mi dawta nurturing instinct kicking in?
