Let the Lord's will be done

You know, that's what I say. Of course, I inwardly pray that His will conforms with mine. I feel for the baby for so many reasons. God only knows.
As of Friday, I heard that the Aunt requested a bed from the state, then she changed and said a friend would give her one. Now she still does not have one after almost 2 months and they are still making plans to give her Kimmy. I do not understand how/why they would even consider a person who supposidly has Kimmy's best interest at heart and can't even come up with a bed nor has even requested to see the baby. None of her relatives requested to see her when she turned 1 last month. I have always stressed that it is better for her to be with family, but if they are not showing genuine interest, I would prefer her to remain with me and they can visit her. It's not my call though.
She is learning to walk. She walked across the Daycare floor today for a cookie. I don't care for bribery to make her walk, but in her case (being nearly 30 pounds and all), by any means necessary. Just do it!
We get a visit from a case manager tomorrow. The state case worker has yet to come out. He calls for updates and I believe he makes his reports from what I tell him over the phone. These children get in the system and they become just another folder. As long as she is with me, Kimmy will never be just another ward of the state. She's a baby that is loved and well cared for and about. She deserves it.
just lay low and don't call the state for anything
before you know it she'll be grown

I'm not sure I would have the patience to wade thru all the paperwork, though I can see that the rewards are beyond compare! I'm praying for you. Remember that the Lord answers our prayers even before we call. I pray that the Lord's will be done in your life, amen . God bless you. You know! I don't even call them for a break, which I really need. I am pooped everyday. Kimmy drains me because of her constant need for attention. So I end of going to bed late because I have to do what needs to be done when she is asleep. I really need to put her on respite, but I am skeptical about leaving her with someone all weekend. AND, I don't want to have to call them for a thing. I don't really want to hear from them.
We had a home visit on yesterday. My case manager plans to talk to the county about them still holding on to the Aunt taking her when she is not showing any interest in the baby. She has been in my Agencies' care for 6 months and have not seen 1 family member. I just want them to leave us alone!
i know some sitters in ATL so you don't have to call "those" folks and on the auntie thing - even to your case manager

Seveen, I have another update for you. You won't believe this one! It is either God answering my prayers or these people are messing with me big time.
I got a call from the DFACS worker last week, saying the "cousin" (First they say it was the Aunt. ) got evicted from her apartment and now they have to fingerprint the Grandmother. I could not believe my hearing! All of this time, they knew they were going to be evicted because I heard, that it takes some process of time through the courts and all before you get evicted. So how come these workers were trying to give my baby to some people who can't even keep a roof over their own heads?! And who, pray tell, is the Grandmother??? Where has she been for 13 months?
I am believing that she is Kimmy's great-Granny because her young Mom is in Foster care, meaning Kimmy's Grandmother does not have her own kids. Lord have mercy! I am going to wait this thing out and keep praying. I asked why they are trying to put her off on these people who have not seen the baby in at least 6 months that I know of. He said they want her to be with family, so I guess any family will do. I said my concern is for Kimmy and her wellbeing. If she is going to be with family that has the same concern, I am cool with that. Otherwise, leave the baby alone man!
On the bright side, she's walking now! She has 8 teeth and F-I-V-E coming. Bites the daycare children. Eats anything that does not move. When she wants something to eat, she says, "Thank You", over and over. That means, I want something to eat. It is amazing how adorable and loveable she is. Everywhere we go, people comment on how pretty she is and want to hold her. She is not a friendly baby, mind you, but she gets soo much attention. I love it.
Seveen, I have a meeting this month with a panel review team. I am told that it will determine a permanent residency for her and that I and she have to be in attendance. Any pointers you can give me? I already plan to make up one of my baby photo albums and put her many pictures and pics she has "drawn" and other things in it. I pretty much have my speech down packed. I understand that what I say will be considered and taken back to the Judge. What should I really expect out of this hearing? If you can tell me.

Hey, I must have missed this one. Thank you so much for your kind words. Thanks for your prayers as well and please keep them going for me. I believe that God sees that my heart is for this baby and her wellbeing since He put her in my life. I know He sees that I am doing the best that I can for her and I hope that all of our prayers will keep me doing that. I am not against her being with her family, but sometimes that is not always the best thing. Sometimes family are better off at a distant. I pray for them too.
Again, thanks!...MG2S
ms. goody - i didn't go through the permanent residency thing - my son was a straight adoption
it seems strange that on one hand they are talking about the grandmother and the other hand they are talking about permanent residency
