Your first 4 words drew tears. Let me tell you. I told that girl that I am her Mommy and the only one she knows. She blew it big time like keesha said. I was being "MsGoody2Shoes" and entertaining the idea of not shutting her out and ONE day allowing her to see Kimmy, but all bets are OFF!!! I don't know whether to move or what now. I don't want to come home and find her on my doorsteps one day. When it comes to Kimmy, I become a Tigress. I woke up after 5:00am behind this mess. Counting down the time to when the courthouse opens so that I can blow up the phone lines. God help that Attorney who divulged my name to that child. Her job will never be the same!

Goody, as you may know - my oldest is adopted (from my sister) she was too happy to hand the baby to at the hospital to "go on with her life". It was me or some stranger somewhere.. I waited almost 1 year to begin adoption proceedings (just in case she changed her mind) invited her to our home to spend time with the baby - the got mad because "it sounded like I changed my mind, yaddah, yaddah.."

Then all of a sudden - 9 years later here she comes telling me how I do not bring the child to see her anymore - mi mek she know that 95 runs north and south. Every time they need to see her I have to be lugging all three of them to Pennsylvania (chester)..oh no as if I do not have a life.

Then she went on the "I gave up my baby and I did not get anything". Will not tell you how I responded to that...and the woe is me story of how she did not know her rights and she was taken advantage of and how she "did not know what she was doing". You make sure that you keep her away from Ms. Kimmy - is something she want...and they are good on the "Blackmail" thing too - so watch out...and make sure you give the idiot hell who divulge your contact information... What a day! I did not sleep well and was up after 5 behind this none sense. I dropped Kimmy at Daycare and put out the red alert. I already have on file a notarized letter stating that no one is to come see or get her without them first contacting me by both cell#'s, home#, work#, work/home email or a pigeon with a note! Not even DFCS or our Agency. I went to work and told them that I was there and would do my job, but when anyone from court call me, I am taking all the calls.

I started by calling the Judge and leaving a message with his assistant. She gave him a note and he called me before he reached the bench. He was highly upset because this woman is supposed to be seasoned and knows better. He could not believe it because she once worked in his office. He said he would talk to her and the other Judge. He said he knows 99% that I have nothing to worry about an appeal because everything was done correctly. He said IF they try to appeal, they will get me an Attorney and they will pay for it. He said he appreciated what I did and to call him if there is anything I need.

I left a deep message with her boss who called me with another attorney on a conference call. I told her the whole story and she was speechless. She could not believe what she was hearing. They all said this was something every person in the courthouse knows should never happen. She promised to talk to her.

My Attorney was calling all day. She is still stunned. The boss eventually called and asked me to repeat what was said about my name and number. I told her. She said the Attorney acknowledged the child asked about her "other" child and she had no knowledge of it so she asked her Super what to do. She has an email where the super told her it's final, there is nothing she can do. So she told her that her rights were terminated. Little miss claimed that she knew nothing about it. Liar!!! This woman played into it and showed her the Judge's order. Her excuse was she did not know about the adoption (hence she should have asked the Judge or read the entire case) and I was listed as Foster Mother, not Adoptive Mother. Duh!! The child knew the Foster Mom was planning to adopt her so when she saw my name, she knew who to harass.

Her boss sounded weary and drained. Her solution is that the Lady did not know the history and she is going to call the Guardian and the girl and tell them she must never contact me or she will be arrested. Whoopie darn do! What about the Attorney? I am not impressed that you will threaten a teen with jail but no form of reprisals are mentioned about the attorney. She was the adult that was in the wrong. She put her job in jeopardy. I told her I was not satisfied with that. "Well, what do you want me to do?" Well I don't think she is in the right profession. Read between the lines! She went on to try and guarantee it will never happen again. So what! It has happened to me and I can't be concerned about the next time. She offered to pay to change my number. Why? For me to lose people who have had the 2 numbers on my home line for almost 10 years?? For her to go on 411 and get the new one??

I let her know I still need to talk to my legal counsel because this is not going to be swept under the rug. I have to deal with whatever this child may have up her sleeve. She just may give up and go away but what if she don't? If she decides to kidnap Kimmy, that won't help me a bit when some idiot attorney is sitting in the corner saying I didn't know. They pay you to know. This is serious. I can tell from everyone that I talk to that they realize the seriousness of it. I admit I am still hyped right about now, but God help her if more comes out of this...

Sorry about the turmoil the birth mother has brought to your door, but your protective nature has kicked in, not only for the little one but yourself as well. Disclosing your personal info is a gross breach of trust, and should be addressed - breach of trust should cause someone loss of employment and much more. I just can't imagine all of the drama that I have went thru at the hands of people who are supposed to have her best interest at heart, we get this far and then more drama from legal people. This woman does not know 1 day in the life of MsGoody and MsKimmy and takes it upon herself to supply this child with information she neglected to get herself. IF she had attended her own hearing, she would have gotten a copy of her TPR and the chance to see me and learn my name. She would not come out of the bushes and get a chance to see her own child! Why should she have rights to court documents.

The thing that really gets me is this Child Advocate Manager trying to excuse her and rail on the child. She needs to be out of a job true. And yes, that is a breach of trust. I am 1 week out of an adoption and already the seal has been broken by some sally come lately who does not even know the case. She was brought in to do a custody hearing, not to backtrack to what has been signed, sealed and delivered!

Maybe I need to calm down and give her the benefit of the doubt, but I am not quite ready to do that now. She has not felt my pain. She has not known how close I kept coming to losing Kimmy to some unstable person and the near misses that I've had for 2 years. She does not understand....

I think you are sooo very right. They will never understand the fear or pain you have been through.None of them could until they have walked in your shoes. They sit in their offices with all their degrees, and use not an ounce of common sense..I really hope those involved with this mistake get more then a slap on their hands. They really need to be fired. Can they even imagine the possible disruption this could cause somewhere down the line? I wonder....sorry does not get it....

How true!

((msgoody)) calm down long enough to sit at your computer and compose a detailed 'report' as to the chain of events, referencing the call, and the actions / contacts you made after the call... address your letter to the Judge himself, with a cc list (of all contacted parties) at the end. Make sure you include a request for prompt disciplinary action, a further request to 'continue' the TRO (unless the original is still in effect) etc. Include a final summary paragraph touching on your compliance and fulfillment of all requirements and regulations regarding fostering and adoption in spite of all the roadblocks faced during the past two years. Add your expectations of future actions to remedy this gross breach of trust and privacy.

If you take your time to do this (almost the same as writing here) it will help you handle things clearly and effectively, and the result will have greater impact, as well as speeding up your peace of mind.
