It's the same one I went to for my Honeymoon. A lovely place. Ms.Kimmy and I are recruiting some family/friends to go with us for a mini vacation since I am off. OMG! 12 miles from the Beach!!?? We are so coming to see you. We usually stay 8 miles from the Beach anyway at the Holiday Inn. They used to know us by name and give us the same room. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img] It has been 6 long years since I went. I love the Mango Misto on the beach. I am dying to have one.

Anyway, I am at home nursing what I believe is strep throat. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby.gif[/img] This crap hurts like the devil. I thought it was a regular throat ache until I went online and found I have most of the symptoms for strep. Doing the self help thing until I can get to my Dr. Sheesh. I was supposed to go get the packet from the Bar today.

I got 2 blocked calls yesterday and today. One was a telemarketer. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif[/img] The other was a Resort calling to confirm my stay. We will be leaving for Silver Leaf on Monday for our 3 day stay and I cannot wait! I hope I am feeling much better by then. Kimmy and I are ready to have some fun. We are back! What a relaxing and refreshing trip. We were at Silver Leaf Apple Mountain Resort in Clarkesville Ga on what was supposed to be 3 days/2 nights. When we got there, the Condo was dusty and day 2, one of the toilets overflowed. I requested an extra day for our trouble and they gave us 2. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img] It was a beautiful condo and environment. We went to Tallulah Falls and rode up to Helen, Ga and spent too much money. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif[/img] But it was a good week.

Got the papers for the Attorney grievance just before I left. I will get them sent off on Tuesday. It still appears that the block calls I am getting are from people who start off with, "This is not a telemarketing call but for the intended..." then my Privacy Directory cuts them off. Sheesh! So I guess little miss is minding her manners and behaving herself. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70384-praying.gif[/img]

I will see how this grievance process goes. Being Chief Job Steward at my job, I can believe it will take a few months to get a resolution, but I can wait. As long as I know Kimmy is not in any danger, I am good. I can't really be bothered with what I can't see or know at this point because we have taken all precautions to make sure she is safe and sound at all times. That's all that I can do and pray it remains so.

Well, I got a letter in the mail yesterday as a response to my 5/1 letter to the Child Advocate Director. She promised to call me the next day after I spoke with her at her office, but I guess after reading my 3 or 4 page letter, she thought better of it and wrote me.

She wasted time telling me that she represents bio mom and their office has a right to answer any questions of their clients. They had a right so show her the TPR papers and it showed me as the foster parent and not the adoptive parent. She still omits the fact that bio mom knew that I was one and the same and the Attorney would have known that had she asked questions before exposing me. She stated that our case is closed out and Kimmy is officially mine. So why would you show a teen minor files that are closed out?

She went on to say the Attorney did nothing to jeopardize me and will not do anything in the future. They have left several messages for bio mom not to contact me or the child. Yadda Yadda. So I am going to go ahead and file the grievance with the state.

Yesterday morning, I awoke from a dream that someone from the state called because a lady was taking Kimmy to Paris and needed her SS# for a passport. I was appalled that she managed to get her from Daycare without me being notified. So I played along with it pretending to be ever helpful and willing to meet with her to give her whatever all she needed to get the passport and make the trip. Making small talk and everything. Nothing to make her suspicious that I was against it. I was also planning to have the Police to meet me there. It seems she was in NY waiting for me and I was willing to travel there. It did not dawn on me until last night that the woman in the dream had the same name as the Attorney who gave out my name to bio mom. I have no idea why I had a dream like that but it really had me on edge.

I never imagined that adoptive parents pretty much needs to carry their finalization papers on their person! Almost everywhere I have to take Kimmy, I have to prove that she's legally mine. I went thru that when we were fostering and I understood that. We went to an ENT clinic today and were held up for 35 minutes because the Lady who made the appointment said she found Kimmy in the system and verified her insurance number so that I did not have to worry about bringing any &quot;proof of ownership&quot; for lack of a better understanding.

We get there and they need to see everything that was at home. I called 4 or 5 people who has the documents and could fax them in but on a Monday, it's hard to get people to answer their office phones at 9:00 I guess. It was so frustrating. I finally got someone from my Agency to fax it over and ended up late for work.

Maybe we need to get ID cards going for parents who foster and adopt to show that they are legimitate. That sounds like an idea I may seriously look into. Who carries around their Judge's decree for an adoption?? That's just like trying to get your driver's license and saying, &quot;Oh, I am divorced so you can drop that hyphenated last name&quot;. Then they ask for the divorce decree. Was I supposed to carry that in my purse?! I know they have reasons and it's the law but sheesh.

Anyhoo, Kimmy is good besides some hearing issues from chronic ear infections. She has an excess of fluid buildup in her ears that is caused by her adenoids and if we can't correct it with daily sprays of Nasonex, she will have to have them surgically removed. We don't want that, so she will have those nose sprayings every morning. The poor thing stands next to the tv with her ear on it saying she can't hear. That scared the dickens out of me when I first saw her doing that. She's just like me! I can't hear too well when volumes are moderate but sounds that are too loud hurts my ears. Hopefully we can correct this issue before she gets too far along.

Well, we got a letter from the State Bar saying they found that the Attorney does NOT have a confidentiality to parents but to the Courts. She went on to say that she does NOT represent birth Mom but is an officer of the court. That was ridiculous when the Admin specifically told me that she is their Client, they represent her and could not tell me how to have her served. She made a sarcastic comment that I have contacted the courts so, &quot;see if the courts can help you&quot;.

Her finding was that I did not have sufficient evidence that the Attorney did anything wrong. I cannot believe this. I do know that if anything amiss happens from here on out, everybody that I have spoken with who have dismissed this breach of trust shall have hell to pay along with the Attorney herself. I am not wasting any more precious time writing letters and making calls on this issue. I have everything documented and that's a wrap.

Hey not to scare you but it isnt a big deal to have the adenoids removed and ear tubes put in.. If the ear infections are chronic (as you stated) it will be more comfortable for her to have the procedure as opposed to the daily nasonex. The fluid in the ear can damage the cilia and lead to permanent hearing loss. Girlkia had her adenoids removed and ear tubes put in (as soon as she came home) and there is a high frequency hearing loss we have to deal with. Fortunately she does not need hearing aids but does need an FM system in the classroom to help her hear the soft letters (eg s, f,v, th) which she doesnt hear so well.

How old was she when she had this procedure? The Dr. explained that she would be down for a few days and then be okay. I just can't stand the thought of her having surgery. He mentioned the tubes in her ear and I've talked to another parent who's child had the tubes in their ear and they eventually fell out or whatever. I am going to read up on this more. He seems to feel that she can be corrected without the surgery but that I need to remember we may have to have it. So I am praying that we can avoid it by all means but I don't plan to jeopardize her hearing at all. She seems to have problems with the left ear.

Thanks! We go back in 2 weeks and see what difference this spray is doing. She has not complained about her ear since we started the spray so I hope that is a good sign that it may be making a difference.

girlKia was 2 when she had the procedure..

the procedure was about 15 min and then she hung out at home for the day and was back to her old self the next day. It was not a biggie.

I will hope Kimmy wont need it though

My son had his out at the same time as tonsils (age 5) BUT he had long suffered ear infections from about 8 months to 18 months - had 12 in the 10 months... the last one, I got a doctor on call, cried on his virtual shoulder (over the phone) and he prescribed a <span style="font-weight: bold">sulpha </span>based antibiotic which blasted the infection out of his system... last one he ever had.


Glad you both had a great little holiday (((missgoodie))) Long time coming, and you both deserved the break!

Okay! I finally kept my word. I just sent some pictures to Seveen and hopefully she will get them online for you Ladies. They are pictures of Kimmy in April at our Adoption signing and on 6/15 at her Daycare birthday party. I also sent some of her at home showing her best sides. The child is completely photogenic. I am tempted to get her signed up with the people who photograph children. At the sight of a camera, she strikes a pose. I suppose it comes from me sticking one in her face since day one. Guilty as charged!

Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy seeing The Little Princess again. She has really sprouted since the last pictures. I've done my part, now somebody go nudge Seveen.
