Mothers do u or did u use it on ur babies? If not wats ur reason. I grow up see ppl use it a yard an i still see it being sold but mi no know if its still an "acceptable" product. Everybody a go green an chemical free now.

An also wats the real diff btwn cawn starch an baby powder. Mi read say u nuffi use baby powder nemore but u can use di starch instead. Well if the baby can inhale the powder isnt the starch just as inhaleable is dat a word ilp lol.

Lawd i think too much access to information a mad mi. I need to fling weh the puter an disconnect from the net. Mi sure say my mom used to powder mi an rub vaseline pan mi batty an look mi deh trang trang it never kill mi.

The cornstarch baby powder is acceptable because of it's moisture absorbing feature but even so you tap a little into your hand or a wash rag and apply it to prevent the dust factor.

Petroleum jelly ... I bought the "green" petrolatum free alternative for too much money highway robbery I tell you and I used it in his hair while waiting for the good baby oil from smaddy. I think it will end up being used just as much as the one I got for Adale (I left in Jamaica 3/4 full when he was almost 3). Ppl use it in the diaper area but once again huggies and I have not had any diaper rash issues. I personally dont think it is necessary.

i never used to grease them or flour them up like chicken

diaper rash ointment (desitin...but me nuh know what the good one is these days) only if they had a diaper rash going on. them used to wear huggies as well.

dont use vaseline.

I used desitin with zinc (the creamy formula), changed diaper every 2hours. If the area looked red mi mek her run around naked for a couple hours-it toughens the skin and let it heal.

Don't use powder too much dust and it nuh serve nuh purpose but dust up the place like Arizona desert

i used vaseline on my girls when they were babies.

i had a babysitter that used to try help me &quot;save money&quot; by not changing the diapers frequently, and my older daughter developed a severe rash. babysitter tell me to use the desitin but i never liked that thing, it looked all sticky and i worried about all the chemicals, too much for a baby. i ended up taking a couple days off and allowing the baby to go without didies for stretches then put on cloth ones. the diaper rash cleared up nicely.

best preventive is to change diapers often and as peasie says, allow bare bottoms as much as you're comfortable with.

yeah the desitin &quot;ointment&quot; is LOUD and sticky like Vaseline that's why mi boycot it and it hard fi wipe off

the desitin &quot;cream&quot; smells pleasant and the texture is a light cream (with zinc oxide) which vanishes quickly when rubbed in easy to apply and remove-has vitamin a &amp; d, cod liver oil, aloe and cokenat oil.

But likkelgen mussie had rash total of twice, she was a sweaty baby so mi had to be on top of the diapers.

Gerber has some thick cotton training underwear that I used a lot of too

I used the hard to wipe off cream if they had diaper rash.

on a daily basis i used nothing. guessing that the beeswax was the difference between this and the ointment

Gen I have heard somebody say that the diapers are bloody expensive (her words) so she has to get her full use of them ... so her kiddos walked around with lots of saggy diapers and she always have to be putting some kind of ointment on them. Change regularly I say and you wont have that problem.

If they are bloody expensive mek she use the cloth ones and wash often - kinda outa order she have the kids in saggy diapers.

Also if she watches them, and feeds them on schedule, she can have a good idea when they 'go' at home . Let them run free as pz said and put them on the potty during that time they should go and make a game out of it

Now for a nex question an mi shame fi ask but i honestly dont know...
Are u supposed to change each time baby pees? Or does the diaper absorb a curtain amount?

The instructor in my fitness class say she changed 4-5 times a day. Dat no sound like enough to me but i guess u play by air.

Pz memba say a canada dis baby will tek up cole inna har cho cho. A no just the chess lol

u can't always tell when they pee.....so it would be hard to change after every time. if i notice tht the diaper kinda &quot;squishy&quot; ( different from soaked), and maybe everytime them feed, i would change it or check to see if it need to be changed.

Diapers and the few times I had to use something it has been Desitin with Zinc. I have a jar of Vaseline, but is me use it. When we were in Costa Rica few times I sprinkled Hunter with Corn Starch cah it did hot, but other than that mi nu used that too much eidah.

Now no pikney diaper favour Hunter's when im ready fi let out fi im load, so I think you should be ok with regular diaper changing and likkle corn starch (if you prefer).
