Texas has its own education standard. They even wanted to change the history books to minimize slavery or something like that last year

Ummm... TX isn't the only State that have &quot;special&quot; textbooks. It is commonly known that the big publishers have a California edition (they get ALL books 1st), a Texas edition and then the rest of the country edition. From what I've been able to surmise, TX editions just have a section in each book that is basically a &quot;where does Texas fit in the scheme of the history of this subject.&quot; I could only SMDH when mi peeps the TX section of the Classic British Literature Anthology

Hmm about the textbooks.

I do not think it is so much a case of the same textbooks being supplied to all 50 states in different versions as if we have a national textbook system. We don't necessarily have the same textbooks from school system to school system in the same metro area much less from state to state. That doesn't mean they may not come from the same publisher though.

That's my point Flowahs. Let's use English as an example....there are only 3 publishers in the nation to go for said textbooks. So when companies come to do there &quot;presentations&quot; about what's new...they are well learned beforehand about what States require and what individual jurisdictions are stressing. As it relates to public schools...most get their funding from the state and vary rarely step out on a limb to order books outside of what the state would be OK with. So from state to state most Anthologies are <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">exactly</span></span> the same (cover to cover). Now what might vary is when (as in what grade level) a child might receive said text.

Is when I reach this side that I was able to examine a TX edition of an Anthology that I used when I was in MD....as you would have it....the same...well except for the &quot;liberties&quot; to put the State of TX at the center of the universe.

Interesting, I would not have thought the textbooks would have even gone by the same title from MD to TX.
