&quot;Ghetto steak&quot; is chickenback we buy for the dogs &amp; cook with rice, but now, since rice went up &amp; you have to figure in the cost of cooking, we may have to go back to buying dogfood, which might end up cheaper in the long run.

It was probably about .50 a lb (chickenback).....and the mackeral was in 5.5 oz cans.

mebbe 11-12 dollars.....plus gas to drive to 3 stores

If using a super market cart to measure things, it takes well over Ja$5000 to half fill it up with the basic stuff too at that.

yeah, I was shocked to find that ja is so expensive - $2.50 for a bottle of ginger beer (its $1.25-1.50 here in the bahamas) and of course, salaries are higher in the bahamas.... </div></div>

I can get a 2l bottle of ginger beer for 60 cents. the smaller bottles are 99 cents - go figure.
