Hwo do you make perfect rice?

I have seen people make perfect whiet rice without lifting a spoon to it - it just simmer down and rise and come sout perfect each time...

What's your secret?

Also rice an peas - Missa man is always complaining that my rice is too wet... his is like T-bone rice - nervva cook good - so between us both is \o/

whats the secret to good rice and peas??

PLease share - mi love rice bad and I will eat it wetty wetty anyday mmmm mmmm mmmm - but in order to have harmony in the house I am tryign to be flexible an please him also.

2 parts water to one part rice.

make sure the pot you use is closed tight.

Measure well.

I am assuming intelligent people would follow the direction that come with the rice cooker


yes 1 cup rice - 2 cups water

same with rice an peas so if you use coconut milk the equasion is still the same

yes 1 cup rice - 2 cups water

so if mi put 2 cups coconut milk it dry dung at de same rate as de wata??

same with rice an peas so if you use coconut milk the equasion is still the same </div></div>

OK mi ah go try it dat way - when i was younger my brother told me to put water equivalent to two joints of my finger from teh top of the rice... then when the water boils down to just over the top of the rice to turn the fire down low...

so what setting you guys put the flame on? (if yuh nat using rice cooker Tanyer!)

Same formula. Just mek sure yuh nuh have too much peas in di watah when yuh a measure.

Me use dat formula, put the rice on #2 or low if me have plenty time. But using gas, just put it on low and let it simmer. If I am in a rush, I start off on a high temp, let the water come to a boil and then put on simmer.

high till the water comes to a boil then down to 1 or 2 (low)

Me used to do sumting similar, but wid di tines of the fork. Cha! sometime yuh haffi add more watah, sometime yuh have too much and haffi try mek correction when it gone bad.

Dem smaddy tell me bout di 2 to 1 formula, and since den...das all me use.
