Boil peas in a medium saucepan with 5-6 cups water
Cook peas 45 minutes or until tender and set aside.
Fry bacon in a medium pot with scallions, garlic, and red pepper
.
Suate for 3-5 minutes and add salt, pepper, thyme, and tomato paste.
Add peas and along with 4 cups of the water used to boil the peas.
Bring to a boil and add rice.
Reduce heat, cover tightly, when most of the water has evaporated.


Cooking time: 45 min

thai - when I can get it made w/o peanuts
philipino - they make these stuff soft buns with pulled pork/beef that is glorious beyond words!

and I love ethiopian food that stuff is hot like fire but really tasty </div></div>

I would love to try Ethiopian food someday... I amj partial to asian foods myself but my favorite type of food if stilland will always be Jamaican

ethiopian food is good but you just have to eat with your hand. the spices used are very different.

there is an ethiopian restaurant near rutgers that used to have a good rep.. dont know if it is still there.. makeba's i think.

My first experience with Ethiopian food was at my friend's house, so I didnt mind the communal food thing. Plus the flat bread they use to scoop it up is quite nice too!

I like the spice combination in Ethiopian food but other types of African spice combinations are an acquired taste.

I have had Brazilian food in restaurants but I would love to try the authentic thing - I saw Bourdain when he was there and the food looked a lot better than what I had in the restaurant...

My neice had a lot of Kenyan friends - de fuss time I wen to BBQ an si how dem roast the goat WHOLE!!! - mi nevva tek to it
