I made the connection between amaranth and Jamaican calaloo after my third visit to Jamaica. It grows wild in my parts I pick when I go wayyyyy into the interior.

Also discovered another bush excellent for making tea...so I have been told I discovered cannibas growing in the interior close to the amaranth not a lot but

I also suspect from how the cannibas is growing that it was not planted by someone....seeds travel in the wilds. Wondering if is birds drop them

never had fiddleheads...what they taste like?

they look kinda okra-ish and if it taste like okra then I'll pass on trying them.

We used to get alot of these mushrooms
the best imo

and these..ramps. lonnng after taste. very good

fiddleheads are rather mild...i'd compare them to asparagus. mmm mmmm nice.

you won't catch me ever eating okra...with that snot running out of it.

does digging your own clams qualify as gathering wild stuff? if it does....this i have done many times over.
