Where Do You Keep Your Recipies

I have been keeping mine in my file cabinet in a hanging folder. But it is a bit inconvienient, because I don't take the folder with me to the kitchen. I always have to re-file the recipie.

I have been planning on getting a binder and inserting those plastic sheet covers and placing the recipies inside the sheet covers. That way I can take the binder into the kitchen and the papers are protected.

If I had follow me mind from before, I wouldn't have to go searching for the carrot cake recipie Loops posted. I hope its in the archives. I can't find it in my 'recipie file'.

Let me go searching...so where you keep your recipies?

i have a few spots.

I started a binder 2 years ago but so far I have only baking and some small appetizers copied and printed.

i am slowly recording main recipes on my computer so I can easily print out something if it pops into my head. Since I usually have my laptop upstairs it is easy enough to just bring the laptop into the kitchen. Isnt always convenient though - depending on wha tis being made

I do keep many recipe books in the pantry closet and pull them out too. But I think the binder idea is what I want to exapnd on.

2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsps cinnamon
1 tsp salt
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups cooking oil
3 eggs
2 cups finely grated carrots
1 cup well drained crushed pineapple
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp vanilla

Sift flour, cinnamon and salt. Set aside. Beat sugar, eggs and oil w/mixer until very light and creamy. Gradually add flour mixture, stirring until well blended. Fold in grated carrots, pineapple, coconut, nuts and vanilla. Bake in a greased and floured cake pan (12x9) at 350 degrees for one hour or til cake tests done with a toothpick. Remove cake from oven to cool. Frost with cream cheese frosting.

4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 box confect sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 stick marg, softened

Cream marg with softened cream cheese. Add sifted confect sugar and vanilla. Stir until blended and spread evenly over cooled cake.

Yuh brave een? Or maybe yuh more careful dan me. I could never risk bringing the laptop into the kitchen.

I have a couple recipie books, but moretime me get better ideas, recipies and suggestions from right here. So me mostly have print-outs dat me cook from.

yeah I know I have to be careful to damage the laptop.

nuff times though I see something online that I like and copy n paste to Word and then print it off. Maybe start doing that then you can slowly build up your binder.

I keep my recipes in a plastic file with rubber band around it. Sorted in no particular order.

For past two years, I have been putting recipes in Word and storing them on an external drive. I can't bother sorting them but I name the files along the order of - SOUP Keilbasa and Navy Bean.doc so that they sort by dish category.

Peppa - mi nuh have nowhere special dat mi file dem... mi have couple cooking &quot;bibles&quot; that I keep on a book shelf in the kitchen... most times mi just need a quick reference peek cause mi adlib and substitute till de recipe change up.

If they are tings I do/made up a version of someting, I keep dem in mi head. Seldom write tings down. I only have few so it ain't like it's real tuff.'
I watch a lot of the Food Network - Emeril, Bobby Flay, Rachel Ray, the Nealy's, Guy Fioetti, and the rest. They have a ton of recipes on their site from all the episodes.
