I grew up on electric so my cooking style kind of reflects it. I usually turn it off before food is done to take advantage of the residual heat leftover on the eye. It took me a while to get used to gas and I agree the oven is a mess. Maybe like some other people said, it takes longer to heat and i didn't realize that was going on.

I have electric now, but I honestly think I prefer gas. I don't know what to do about it because I have an electric line and not the gas hookup so I'm stuck.

I would go with 4 burners and a griddle - I find it very hard to utilize the fifth burner when the other 4 are going... 6 would be better

If I had my druthers...I would have both. I love my glass cook top. I LOVE the even heat from my electric oven, which is supposedly within 4 degrees of where I set it.... a cosistency you don't see with gas as far as I know.

However, there have been one or two times I would like a gas flame stove top. Just two burners or something. Mostly I love the even heat of electric oven and my glass top.

From a baking standpoint? Electric.

No. I worked there and the security cameras were in place and working.
Saving around 1300.00 was just fine.
There had been a delivery crew that got caught stealing about $80,000.00 worth of appliances and after that they put some rather effective security measures in place.

The store does have a long trailer parked out back and all the old appliances that the delivery crews pick up when they deliver new ones go in there and the doors are always open and even though there is a company hired to take the old stuff, people regularly come by at night and take some of the better looking old appliances to fix and sell i would guess.
The store also gets a lot of returns on things like air conditioners, dehumidifiers etc and the store doesn't even bother testing them but instead spray paints them with large x's, cuts off the power cord and puts them into that same trailer. Many of them work just fine.
I worked there with many people from the Third World, Ghana, Ethiopia, Honduras, Jamaica, Haiti and we were always just amazed at the waste and all saying that we all could open stores in our respective countries just selling the returns at Lowe's (or any other like store) and make a ton of money but the stores, by contract, have to destroy this stuff in order to get a refund from the suppliers.

How did i know you were going to say Lowe's?

I did get my first washing machine and dryer from Lowe's, and it was a slide it out the back door discount courtesy of my friend R's brother.
