With all The Food Network watching, ample tools, and quality ingredients, you'd think at least one dish in the meal has to come out right. Identify it and eat mostly that.

There is really no way out. You're going to have to go over there the Monday before Thanksgiving and eat. Don't even hurt up your head trying to come up with an excuse. Nobody believes somebody is dieting Thanksgiving week and the dinner party is for you. You're the guest of honor so you can't bow out.

Have a glass of wine beforehand, whisper a prayer for the hungry, and trudge on through.

ILP, I'm chuckling to myself over here. All of my friends who can't cook already have been informed, but my brother's ex-girlfriend used to insist on having a dinner party every time my parents came to town.

Lawd sen help if she cooked so bad that my brother found his way in the kitchen. That last pork roast looked so undercooked that I was forced to say I had gone vegan. Bare string beans and potatoes I ate LOL.

I had soup and a salad before I went. She had several salads (Quinoa, sinting name Hambrozia (sp?)...it look nasty fi real...favor jello , and few pasta ones) along side the main course (roast pork loin) and fried pototoes. I ate the Quinoa, as mi could pick out the grains and eat them. di current mr ilp ate that along wid few piece of pork and the potatoes.

I brought an apple pie and a bottle of wine....which she didn't serve Mi not an expert on etiquette, but I think she thought I may have crossed the line...she &quot;did tell me not to bring anything.&quot;

di current mr ilp has had &quot;runny arse&quot; &lt;his terms for food poisoning but it not as bad as last time. She called today to say thanks for the wine and pie and asked how things were (as in what we were going to do for the rest of the visit). I told her we were staying close to home, as di current mr ilp had an upset stomach.

Here she: &quot;Oh? I hope it wasnt the pork or anything? Eric (her husband) is fine.&quot; This time mi had to do it...mi tell her mi think that it was indeed something that he ate at the dinner party.

I don't care for Ambrosia. I think it's one of those dishes that you either love or hate.

ILP, come here let me tell you something. She didn't serve your apple pie because all you ate was quinoa. (You know that passive aggressive way of saying you must not be hungry enough for pie.)

Seems like you would be good to stick to vegetable foods and stay away from meats and unidentifiable salads

mi click the link....yes is something like that she had. she had green things in fi hers. now mi thinking it may have been apples? or pears? needless to say it look too mekkeh-mekkeh ahn mi wasnt eating any

as for di pie, flowers, she had some granola looking thingy with caramel that she insisted everyone try...smdh i was too stuffed and asked to take mine home. is di trash eat it
