I use a CuisineArt MiniPrep, unless I drag out the big old CuisineArt Custom 11 food processor. I leave my mixed fruits slightly chunky, though.

Do unnu use a heavy duty stand mixer or just a hand mixer for the cake batter?
I own - and often use - an old MixMaster... but black cake batter is a job for my KitchenAid stand mixer, IMO.
