Ok this is it out of the tin, drained and sort of dried....surprisingly a lot can hold in the tin

When dem was done...but dem neva taste righted the 'tin' taste was on it and if I had never eaten breadfruit before I wouldn't know that is what it was supposed to be. I would fail a blind taste test.

I'm not so sure how I would proceed to get the metallic taste out of canned breadfruit Wonder if you add a little coconut oil to the oil you fry them in if that would help

Found this tip on the internet: One way to try to remove the canned taste of <span style="text-decoration: line-through">vegetable</span> breadfruit is to blanch them. Do this by sticking the <span style="text-decoration: line-through">veggies</span> breshe in boiling water and letting them sit for two minutes. Take them out and dump them immediately in a bowl of ice-cold water to stop them from cooking any further.

Yes I did cut some of them in two cause they were big pieces but yeah dem pack it up good.

I don't even remember where i get my pan from and I don't have a clue about the brand mi will look later.

In addtion to the metallic smell and taste, once i had finished frying it even though I did not make the fire really high and tried to keep them in there awhile, the breadfruit dem water logged and so the middle was sort of mushy. And there is no 'breadfuit' taste is like you eating fried dough dat sort of gooey in the middle.

Needless to say I fried half of it and ended up throwing away half of those plus the unfried ones. I thought about what you said about the fritters but I was too vex by then.

Oonu please remind me in the next 10 years when mi figet all of this an tell oonu say mi buy annoda tin.

Oh Lord Seemiyah - mi nat laughing cause I would have done the same thing to get a taste of fry breadfruit too - oh how I love that ting!

I am thinking maybe if you had cut them thinner (as thin as possible), left them out maybe 1/2 day on the paper towels to absorb some of the liquid and fry them on low to medium heat - to allow the middle to cook without burning the outside...
also, did you salt them before frying?

we were THRILLED to find breadfruit here... the only problem with most of their fruits and veggies here is that they pick everything waaaay to early - so nothing is ever - fully ripened or fit and they are tiny compared to our Jamaican breadfruit. But we still enjoyed it to the MAX!
