there are certian unwritten rules when you tek public transportation. one is that as yuh come inna the house wash yuh hand and leff yuh dutty street clothes inna the hamper and guh clean yuh dutty skin. all kinda homeless people pan the train/bus and who inna dem right "yard" mind woulda carry dem sitten deh inna smaddy bedroom/sheet ?
now if the guy is yankee
den dat is "generally" a diffrant sitten.
my daughter is just 8 and this is how she was raised, as soon as she comes "inside" she tek off har outside clothes
without being reminded.
anyway, i don't see the "differences" being worked out, that is not how jeff was raised and he probably won't be changing soon.
not to mention the "bathing issue"
. I have yet to meet a man that does not rush to bathe when him significant other tell him fi guh bade 
cause dem know ain't no cuddling a gwaan wid dem dutty self.
