Hmmm...quality relationships are so serious and so fragile for folks as they get older that I hardly believe something as irrevelant as sex (at that age) could play such a dominant role in the decison on how best to live one's life in the middle-age range.

There are so many other things to do, the best of which is to enjoy beautiful relationships with a rich variety of people that a little lack of sex surely would not determine the 'end' of one's life as sex-crazed youth may think.

hmmmm well IMO sex is NEVER &quot;irrelevant&quot; - no matter what age. no matter what other activities ppl do, those things cannot replace the particular closeness you get from sexual bonding &amp; intimacy. Without a good sex life, something feels 'missing', all kinda other activities can be done and even enjoyed - but it can come down to just providing distraction so ppl don't think about 'that which is missing'. Sexual intimacy is more than just a 'nice thing', I personally find it to be a basic human need, and <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">very</span></span> important.

I can't say I 'define' myself by whether or not i have a man; I've long proved to myself that I can TCB by myself..... work, pay bills, take care of the home, etc etc. so while I don't &quot;need&quot; a man, I sure do prefer having one.

it doesn't need to be a 'husband' - but i do prefer &amp; enjoy being in a relationship. It makes for a more pleasing, loving, sharing life than being by oneself all the time.
