just read about this crazy-[censored] celebrity couple in Britain on perezhilton....the husband was quoted on some TV show saying the following:

<span style="font-style: italic">One day, unfortunately, we will go our separate ways and we will probably be happier, but at the moment we're working hard to make this relationship work.'</span>

Now if it is already determined that you/he/she would be happier if you parted ways, what on earth would make you still keep working at a relationship that you already KNOW has an expiry date?

yeah, I thought about the kid thing but I have strong opinions against &quot;the stick out for the kids&quot; argument.....

but is convenient more important that daily happiness? You wake up each morning with a person you arent in love with or are in love with but dont really like and this is considered living? Is it really worth the convenience of not separating?

same here but I know I dont have the patience for the 2 man business at all

my nerves get taxed quick enough with even just one man

you know, when I read that statement above it just struck a chord. It is at what point does your happiness become something you are willing to work for...either sticking out a relationship and making work or find away to move on so you are BOTH happy.

my friend her mom was living with her husband the separate but still live together why because she own half the house and him own half and neither had the money to buy out the other

then I think you have to redefine what love is if you are not feeling what you thought was love

in my personal experience the love you feel changes, ebbs &amp; flows, and goes through phases.. all in all it is love just different forms of it.

now if you dont like the person, question why you dont like what the person does even though s/he may have not changed so was that way from the get go

now if they have changed into someone you dont like the best thing is to talk with the person (especially if it is in your non negotiable 20%)

you all have made some really good points Fear is such a strong motiviator for all kinds of other choices we make in our lives. I forgot to consider that.

Kia, I was thinking along those lines as well. If it ws about expectations. We come into marriage/long-term relationships with a list of expectations and are disillusioned when the person doesnt meet them. That is understandable but like you have implied, many ppl dont want to do the hard work of talking things out to determine if they should continue or end it.

When life is so short it is just sad when ppl choose to live like that. You waste such precious time

then there is the whole issue regarding how men &amp; women communicate because they do so differently

i have a friend who is a great communicator and she finds her husband to be emotionally distant and non communicative. she has tried everything but he doesnt think there is a problem because he is working and providing for the family , doing his share of the chores around the home and to him, life is honky dory. to her, well she is ready to file papers come jan 2. I feel bad for her boys because I think they will be affected but maybe the papers may be the bonk on the head the man needs to realise her needs are not being met.

I asked her that and she sez no at this point. I think they both need to talk it out and over and over and over
