there is one likkle fluxy supermarket by me that can never stock decent fruits yet-it is a smaller chain and mi know dem nuh have the means fi stock fresh fruit, but if dat the case den dont sell them.

mi leff the fruits right deh suh if mi dat desperate fi dem mi might switch dem out but so far mi juss leff dem inna the market fi the odda people buy.

The strawberries sell for 2 lbs..I am sure I paid for less than 2 lbs as most of them were just too fluxy for me to fill up back the container..

When I lived with my ex, he worked for a produce distributor.
We don't even SEE the top quality at your average market. That's sold to the high end restaurants. Most supermarket chains take the average quality fruits and veggies.
A lot of the lower quality is sold to smaller shops &amp; people who sell at flea markets and such. Boston's Haymarket area is all street vendors selling produce. Low quality again.

He always brought home the best. Sugar sweet juicy oranges &amp; grapes... perfect potatoes, green beans, brocolli... I'd give him a list and he'd bring it home.

I was PISSSEd when he quit that job!
I think that was the beginning of the end for us...
