When mi reach up yah, an realise say Canadians fi de moas pawt doan even gi way prayer, mi realise say giving back or helping out a one, is a pawt a mi Jamaicaness dat mi cyaa afford fi lose.

Which is why mi feel say de ooman should help har gran dem caw she in a position fi do so. De cycle haffi end man.

How hard it must be for a mother to be rejected by her children Maybe she didnt realized that there could be some brainwashing in hte home, that would cause the kids to turn from her, like Nunya said... but I'm surprised that her efforts ended at that visit- She didnt reach out to other relatives, the authorities for help? She never wrote her children (even if the letters were returned), or wrote to the father in attempts to slowly rebuild some semblance of a r/ship?

It's strange to me that she allowed the miles of separation to completely sever her from her past life.

At this stage, is she feeling guilt, anger that they are costing her this new life? Where's her mindset? Because maybe now that she's 'lost' hte new life, maybe its time to repair the old... not necessarily in the sense of saving them from the hard life, but in emotional resolution of the past. Yes they may try to use her, but some kind of dialogue has to take place to see what kind of r/ship they can now have. Sad sad sad.

I don't know what she's feeling. I don't know if she wants to rebuild a relationship with her kids. I do know that her cellphone has just been ringing off the hook - it's what she said. But when asked if she'd actually talked to any of them (including dem daddy), she didn't say...

*I* got the feeling that she doesn't want them in her life.

and this is a very telling sign. She doesnt sound like a mean or selfish person, so if she is pulling back I believe she has good reason.
