I think he probably thought your skin (smoothness, suppleness, etc) looked good to him. Most white folks don't have too much recognition of tones/hues of us in the same way we do of ourselves.

I can understand it because I had a white co-worker who was telling me about this woman he liked at work, and I couldn't quite figure out who he was talking about. Then he described her as light skinned. What? White people come in light skinned too?

Since then, I have taken more notice of the little variety they have in hue to my eye. Like Nicole Kidman is definitely paler than many other whites. But just to look at someone straight on, I don't feel any means of judging whether they are light or dark white. I think they feel the same way about us.

The man used a poor pickup line, but I think he just liked your skin. For the record and my personal vanity, what kind of moisturizer do you use?

Oh, I was serious as one heart attack. I'll try the Bath and Body Works body cream. I tried the Olay Quench thing when it first came out (bout 7 or more years ago) and it wasn't fit for the winter job.
