Wi nat in the clear yet ...but atleast the school stepped in and seem to be helping out a bad situation It was me telling her what CB said that prompted her to ask the school which led to them getting involved.

when my aunty did get sponsor is the school do all the paperwork fi har (donkey years ago the catolic school but catholic school nuh sponsor up here anymore mi hear)

Sorry fi badda unu again..

Is now 1 week an some days since shi tell mi sey teh lawya suppose to a fix har prablem wid di embassy.

Sad to say no real progress since dat time ..lawya still a act like shi noh business **sigh**. She start breaking down again and gwine have to go fi plan C which she sey is try come up pan pan a H4 Visa. But fram waht mi undastan yuh nat suppose to work on that Visa.

Mi a try fi get fram har how dat a go help her in her job situation wid di school but mi cyan undastan wey shi a sey to mi.

Anybady know waht dis H4 Visa is all about?
BTW shi noh expect fi get troo wid dat til Mid June. Mi noh know if the school can hole aff til then di way how shi explain it. Mi sey mi sarry fi har so til

Mi nat even a go goh deysoh wid har.. dat easier said than done considering she has established herself here. She is in the USA 4 years now.

She left her good job at Camperdown HS and may I add she is a PHD.

Mi tink some people tink dat farrin is all bed and roses but some realize it's not always what they see on TV. Anyways ...She is in a dire situation anyway yuh look at it.

Dat is the greatest concern now. She doesn't live in my Sate JKid. Poor ting neva expec fi dey a JA all this time. Her brother mussi a go leave Chicago by the end of this week to take care of some of those concerns. A way uppa Buffalo shi live.

Hey Wendy, sorry to hear of your friend's dilemma, and by extension, yours too...

Only thing I can say is, lawyers who demand 5000 dollars to update a permit - immigration, work, whatever - don't seem lawyers to me, but crooks!!

Yes Stormmey ..they helped with the retainer fee for the attorney to petition the embassy and find out what the issues are .. they did that.. but each time she called the attorney to find out what the status is she just tells her they are &quot;waiting&quot; to hear back. She asked if they can call to follow up since it is a matter of urgency and they shrug her off. So now she has been waiting and waiting and waiting ....nothing .....

Unfortunately she will have to get use to the waiting game between the Attorneys and Immigration. Hopefully, her job will still be there for her when this mess gets figured out!

I had a issue with immigration some years ago. Talk about frustration! At first I attempted the help of attorneys and when they told me about their fee and no gurantees I just did the paperwork myself. Talk about feeling scared. Everything worked out fine!
