This happened to one of my family member. His sister took out credit cards in his name. He found out when the credit card company called his real job. As the perpetrator had listed his occupation as a baby sister and used her address and phone number as his employer. Short version no lawyer was needed. The cerditors made her signed an affidavit and all cards and debts were transferred to her name. Hence cleared up his credit report.

ILP.. unfortunately you are going to have to tell her to stop applying for jobs.. as every hit comes up on her report and anyone looking can see who else accessed the report..

My heart is truly heavy for Babygirl A, the same thing happened to my son, by his father, so happened I found out when he opened the first credit card, fortunately the CC company called and I picked up his phone.. he had maxed out $1000 limit on the card in a matter of weeks..

Unfortunately again.. she is going to have to get the Fraud folks in this.. also get the CC companies involved, if they think they are not going to get paid, they will also help you with docments and things of that nature..

Mi really appreciate oonu advisement for real. It helps in the sense that if I was ILP of old, it would not have been anything for me to go find this woman and kick ahn cuss har kleet.
But alas...mi is smaddy muddah now, mi tyad ahn mi cyan bother. Plus BabygirlA is older.
Truthfully, I have never imagined these things weh oonu a tell me. I guess, mi juss naive or something. I guess is cah mi raise fi work ahn nu chuss tings. If you nu have it..then you nu have it. Period. I was raised to save and nu spend what you nu have. So it is incomprehensible to me when mi see/hear bout people weh nu live like me. Mi have nuff friends that work at SSA Headquarters, so mi gwine inquire bout changing SSN's.
Mi gwine print out alla what oonu present hereso ahn give dem to BabygirlA, she will have to make the ultimate decision. Even through it all, mi know deep down she is still emotionally attached to her mother ahn she is very conflicted bout har feelings for that lady. Mi nu grudge har bout har feelings atall (whatever they may be), mi juss nu know. Mi use to feel sorry for di ooman, as mi did know har from before BabygirlA come, but mi see har now ahn mi juss get so dyam angry cah mi juss nu get har again. I mean you supposed to do betta man. You supposed to can do better.
I dunno...sigh...

Mi know BabygirlA nu have money fi pay for any of this...ahn mi sure this gwine cost....SMH

ILP has BabygirlA undergone any counseling? She must have a lot of conflicting emotions with regards to her mother. I know the school where she is has student psychological services, perhaps she can schedule a schedule a few sessions as she is dealing with the identity theft problem because nuff emotions bound to come and a therapist can help her through them so she can rationally deal with her mother.

ILP I was thinking maybe if a lawyer wrote to her and let her know if she does not contact the CC companies or wherever she do her fraud and let them know that she accept full responsibilty if that would drive some fear in her or at least let her know that BabygirlA found out.

What you think.....or is this just wishful thinking on my part. Just wondering as it don't seem like BabygirlA will charge her wutliss Mumma wid fraud. She need to be informed though of the consequences if she does not do the right thing now.

They give free counselling, and act as a go between between the debtor and the companies &quot;owed&quot;....the service is free, I think they get some payment from di govt...a saawt of charitable org...mi wi chry fi membah di name..

Identity theft wasn't prevalent when this guy used to come on religiously on radio in the mornings....this was quite a few years ago....but your question is a realistic 1 Kia.

I just googled his site, and although it is a non-profit organisation, i don't see any 'free&quot; service listed....[as they used to advertise]

They were the first budget counseling svce offered to debtors so they should haff a lot of experience in areas related to this...I would give them a call...it wouldn't hurt; who to tell..

i have offered, especially after the last blowup going on year 2. not that everything that has gone on didnt require some outside intervention, but i felt the last one really required it. ah not fi mi moddah that ahn mi feel fi lick di ooman down most times, mi cyaan imagine if it was my moddah none-the-less. babygirlA declined and i've not forced it, i just left it as a viable option. now i have no idea if she has sought outside help on her own. i do know that her school offers services, but whether she has gone on her own, she has not shared. babygirlA is a &quot;work/doing things&quot; masker. so when she get overwhelm ahn nu feel like being bothered, you can tell because she is always &quot;busy&quot;. when she cyan entertain herself with &quot;things to do&quot; then she keeps to herself and sleep.

she did nuff ah daht after the last blowup, actually 4 months worth of sleep/cry. this past summer, she found &quot;things&quot; to do (ie. school, volunteered) ahn vacationed with us.

i will again offer and point out the benefits, but mi not gwine shoove it dung har throat eidah.
