OK, that deserves a full fledge ignore and a topic change. How about talking about whatever training you two were planning? I mean you still have to get through that together.

She must be really insecure about the instability of being a consultant. Who would pat themselves on the back in 8 emails. That sounds crazy.

Yes. And she included three others in each of those emails including my boss, a VP.

I've known Connie for years as we have worked around each other but never together - we had different specialties in our field of work. Yep, she is insecure, self-absorbed, and dramatic: all the character traits in others that just make me tired

Connie has now moved into my specialty and I suppose she is trying to impress us or at least the VP. For example, one of the emails is for us to make sure we have the following items ready for training next week ... .

Connie suggested that we copy a chapter from The Book and give it to the leads we are training.

I just looked at the chapter. Her photo is prominent in that chapter.

I don't think I have ever had to work with someone as self-absorbed as this

She is not married.

You are so right about a bumpy ride. Last week while I was facilitating training, Connie kept opening The Book and leaning over to my boss and another trainer. Her expression was one of disapproval. I was not training from The Book.

I was furious ... I allowed her to get to me Later in the week she revealed to someone that she wants to work with our organization and do what I am doing. Word got back to me that Connie was after my job. I don't mind that - there's room at the table - but what got my ire was her desire to shine at my expense. Why are people like that?
