I don't think it has to do so much with him being gay so much as the fact that he has been raised to live above his means. His demanding that mommy top up his bank account to fund his partying says to me that he is used to the easy life, so anyone who will offer him that it would be more tempting to him than someone who has worked hard to get where they are.

no different than a girl who gets herself a sugar daddy just that society would be more likely to class the boy as a male prostitute than the girl with the sugar daddy/daddies.

add to that self esteem issues etc.etc and there is the slippery slope....

You mean food stamp -- in order to get unemployment you have to had a job and get laid off or some such thing. It is really hard for college graduates to find jobs these days. Did she ever explore the option that he may feel insecure about his sexuality and thus is going thru a bout of depression, if she has no probs with his sexuality she should confront him about it and assure him that who he chooses is his choice and he is lucky to be living in a country which is accepting somewhat of his sexuality and therefore there should be no problems.

I seriously think it is depression.
No matter what her feelings are toward homosexuality it does not change who he is nor who he chooses to sleep with.

His mother needs to get him a good lawyer first. She hasn't cut the apron strings all this time, and I don't think now is the time when he's never had job one and is faced with a felony.

She needs to find out what really happened because I don't believe you get charged with a felony for climbing a fence into a construction yard. I'm not altogether sure that could be called breaking and entering. Wouldn't he have had to enter an actual house/building?

His other issues can be addressed after getting out of this. Maybe this was the wake-up call he needed.
