What are the facts surrounding circumcision.

Got plenty of question answer one all or none, whatever strikes your fancy...got a question of your own or a fact to share.

Do you prefer your mate to be circumcised?
Does circumcise mates last longer, enjoy sex less, is cleaner/healthier, or more aesthetically pleasing?
Did you know some people believe Circumcision reduce the spread of STDs?

Why is it okay to circumcise boys but bad to circumcise girls?

I think that the cleanliness is based on the personal hygiene of the owner. I have not seen any evidence that enjoyment of sex is different; it does appear it's easier to make uncircumcised men hard because the penis comes in its own little moisture pack. </span>

Why is it okay to circumcise boys but bad to circumcise girls?
<span style="font-weight: bold">The definition of circumcision is different for boys and girls. For boys, it is removal of skin. For girls, it's the removal of the clitoris. We have enough going on downtown in the first place - urinate here, menstruate there, and store baby somewhere on top of this. Your nether regions are less complicated so there can be no comparison.</span>

It is clear you are uncircumcised. I don't have son nor penis so I'm not strongly opinionated enough to say it is wrong, bad, and unhealthy. I don't see anybody dropping dead from it.

It certainly looks like it hurts, but considering that the sack of fluid where you residing in your mother's womb just burst, you were pushed out her vagina, and your umbilical cord was just cut, you were having a bad day anyway.

I am circumsized.. Jamaicans love being decended from Maroons not slaves .. I beleive that some among them practiced circumsistion as part of their rictuals...(also checking the tongue, also cliping with a finger nail at birth the ligature that holds the tongue to the bottom of the mouth)

Mandela whom all worship is circumsized as per Xhoza tradition.. ..

I would have circumsized my sons.... But the uk they frown on it.. my 8 year old has a minor issue.. but my 4 year old has a major foreskin issue.. if he gets retins pee too long his penis get semi hard and it hurts....I have to take him to the doctors on Friday....

If you are a believer and if you also believe that an omniscient God would create something so imperfect that it needs modification, perhaps you'd best reevaluate your belief in a supreme creator.

It's also called child genital mutilation by the more intelligent and less myth driven peoples of the world.

It is another one of those evil things that people only do because their Bronze Age religious beliefs accepted by the general population order them to do it.

Well in most cases it is believed to reduce the pleasure of sex and in some cases make sex painful.

What you say is true, but isn't it still a mutilation?
Isn't removal of the clitoris as damaging as removal of the foreskin???

Maybe, I think its more about chastity and reducing infidelity.

You ask a question and people make judgments about you

It seems you think its less damaging for boys and hence more okay than for girls.
Believe it or not quite a few boys and girls have drop dead from it, not to mention life long scars, pain, and suffering

I don't know about Americans being the &quot;only group&quot; that circumcise, but how did/does circumcision prevent masturabation? I don't see a relationship between the two.

Mohelim (pronounced as moy-el-eem - plural for the word 'mohel') never mutilate (ie - do the circumcision wrongly so that there are physical problems). If I had sons, I would never let a doctor near them; I'd have a mohel do it. Sadly for many (most?), that's not an option. Mohels only do it as the Jewish religious ritual. I honestly do not know what I'd do if I didn't have the Jewish option of a bris.
