Anyway, a friend of mine also young black man 27 with 2 masters and another degree was working for a telecom giant and was given the same tasks. He got out and invested in rental properties and recently made his first million [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif[/img]

Istn't it strange how this behavior is not that privalent in Jamaica?
it must be in th ewater.
Anybpdy can go to jamaica and work,and nobody complain that they are taking their jobs. the level of jelousy I see here seem also to be so different than in jamaica.
I have always worked in some sort of supervisory position,and i hav enot once experienced the resentment I see in workers. This is not by any means limited to blacks. It is across the board.
What I also notice is that most of thsi resentment, is based on ignorance in th elevel of preparation we get in our foreign education system,and not 'other' preference.
As I say, it must be in the water.

Di ting wi muss memba is dat, for di most pawt, annuh wi a di problem, suh nuh tekk it awwn. Mekk dem guh figga hout how fi get ovah dem inability fi work well with people who different from dem. since when? I have never seen that. In fact, I've even seen many afro americans and africans working at caribbean restaurants. Blacks don't discriminate against each other. I have had some afro-americans act hateful against africans and west indians though.

Really? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70459-hugs.gif[/img]I recall one black american woman constantly callign my mother and her friend a 'patty'. She thought it was a joke and they were all friends however I found it a bit ignorant.

I don't think blacks discriminate against each other and I do think we need to question why there are not more black businesses. One thing I can say though is that many black managers and business ownders tend to reach out to hispanics and others and not try to help blacks enough.

I agree with that. In thinking on how race comes up in the workplace and elsehwere in life we have to remember nothing is wrong with human diversity and how God made us but it's the people who are racist that have the problem.
