Would you argue then that having kids or even the consideration at this stage is a selfish act, considering the number of kids there are waiting to be adopted?

being honest and having had kids, if i had it all to do again, i would choose not to have kids. not in this environment and in this time. heck, not in any time. i'm not sure i understand your question tho.

it would really depend on the circumstances. younger, i would not have adopted. if i was an older woman in my 30's say and never had children and didn't want to spend the rest of my days alone, i'd adopt a child or get a dog. actually, i'm hedging more to the dog than the child.

LOL. I hear yah. I am seriously thinking of adopting a little girl. My son would love a sister and I am finished...
