I love to sleep and I sleep well every night even with all the traveling I did on my job. I stick to a routine: go to bed around the same time each night, warm shower, personal care routine then:
At my house - cool temperature in room and fan on. Read. No TV in my bedroom.
At his house - cool temperature in room and fan on. Read. TV in his bedroom but we rarely watch it. He doesn't snore too much.
If I don't get a good night's sleep, dawg nyam DahJah suppa di nex day
I rarely have trouble sleeping. I like falling asleep to the tv or silence. I find it difficult to fall asleep to music - it's too stimulating even if meant to be a lullaby.
If I am having trouble winding down, I either try to finish reading a book, work out, take a long soak in the tub, have a glass of wine, have sex, or some combination thereof.

I have to read before I am able to sleep. My problem is I have trouble staying asleep.

Have you always had issues- were these recommended by a doc? ETA that I've used melatonin in the past, but hadnt thought of it on a long term basis- how long does it take before you're knocked out?
it doesn't affect him because him could sleep thru hurricane, monsoon or earthquake. </div></div>
This is so true of many men I know someone tho whose hubby cant stand light or noise, so her routine of reading or tv went out the window. I think she tried earphones for music, but that did nothing for her. Now she has a kindle and he'll mumble at times, but she doesnt let that interrupt her reading :
