Re: Story Time!! (Fiction)
'Vanessa did a great job' Kaila thought as she entered the hall. The hall was decorated in gold and red to match the singers album. The tables were lined up against the wall filled with food and in the center was a pool covered with plexiglass and scribbled across it read 'Dancing on water' the singers single. Waiters walked across with champagne and they were dressed to match the colors of the party. The party just started and a crowd was already there. Kaila looked around proud at how every detail she would catch, probably the guest wouldn't care, was caught and the party was executed as if she was at the office the whole week.
Since the singer requested that the party have a club like atmosphere, the dress code was casual. Kaila wore a long jeans skirt that brushed the ground lightly and, what Vanessa called a 'very long red scarf', that she wrapped around her neck crossed over her breasts and tied at her back. Ricky, who dressed quite dapper himself, walked up beside her and place his hand on the small of her back. The touch sent chills up her spine and the cologne he was wearing almost had her melting. Almost. She kept her composure and took a step to the side gently pulling away from his embrace.
"Is that anyway to treat your date?" Ricky asked.
"No, it's not. Good thing your not my date." Kaila searched the room with her eyes trying to see where Vanessa had gone, but she was missing in action. The music was blasting and Kaila couldn't help, but sway her hips to the beat.
"Come on let's get on the dance floor, quit looking for Vanessa. We both know she has proven herself." Before she could contest Ricky pulled her out to the middle of the dance floor. She was already out there and cameras were flashing, so she went along with the dance. She could see the headlines now, 'Kaila Richardson's new beau?' Right then the D.J. welcomed her.
"Hey everyone let's welcome Kaila. It's time for everyone to get on the dancefloor and celebrate middleton's record release. Don't let miss Kaila and her man party alone!!" Ricky laughed out loud at the statement. Kaila was irked. How dear he make such an announcement without consulting with her too. Vanessa stood next to the D.J. with a smirk on her face. The plan was childish, but it's a push.
Just then Vanessa looked up at the entrance and a gentleman stood there, he looked very familiar. After a couple seconds of scrutiny. "Richard!" she whispered to herself. Her heart started pounding. She raced of stage and straight towards him.
"What do you think you're doing here!" Vanessa yelled at him. Robert turned to face her. "You are not welcome here!"
"Vanessa, it's nice to see you again." He said while stroking her cheek. "I see life has been good to you. Where's my baby."
"Are you kidding me? She wants nothing to do with you, you pig! Now leave before I get security!!" Vanessa felt the heat rising up her body.
"Now Vanessa I know your not going to treat me this way. After all we were once lovers. Have you told Kaila this?" Vanessa looked away with a look of shame. "Now point me in the direction of my baby and we won't have to hurt your little career."
Vanessa reluctantly looked to the dance floor where Kaila and Ricky were dancing and giggling. Robert sauntered over to the couple and when Kaila twirled around she spun right into his arms. Kaila looked up at him with a look of terror that quickly turned to disgust. "This is how we belong dear."
"Get your hands off of me!" Some of the party guests turned to see what was the matter and Kaila stormed outside. "You need to leave right now, disappear out of my life like the first time. Don't do this to me." Kaila was trying to fight the tears as she realized all the emotions she's been holding in all these years were suddenly bubbling up again.
"But baby we have a lot to talk about." Robert reached out to grab her arm, but Kaila backed away. Ricky and Vanessa stood in the background not knowing what to do. All they knew this needed to stop right now because photographers were starting to inch their way out to show the beau that went missing from Kaila's life.
