Re: Story Time!! (Fiction)
A week has gone by and Kaila has not heard from Robert. Secretly, she wished he had been hit by a truck.
Robert has been seeing a lot of her, though. He's been by her home several times. To see her watching t.v., eating dinner, hanging out with Vanessa and Ricky. He still loved her, but he couldn't commit to Kaila her power was intimidating. He hated seeing her with Ricky. She seemed to give up all control to him when he kissed her. He's yet to see them making love, Ricky hoped he didn't get that far. As far as he knows the sleep in separate rooms.
Kaila had Vanessa and Ricky come and stay with her in the meanwhile. Recently she hadn't felt comfortable at home. Always felt that she wasn't alone and the fact that she hadn't heard from Robert since he left her office. Her suspicions rose.
Kaila decided to give him a call. "Well what may I do this honor?" Robert said answering. Kaila felt irritated by his voice.
"I was calling to see what you were up to? I haven't heard from you since you came blackmailing for money."
"I wasn't blackmailing, let's call it a comprimise." He said with a chuckle. Kaila wanted to hang up the phone so bad, but she knew she had to be calm. That's probably the only way she was going to get through to him.
"Hey Vanessa's throwing a party this weekend, You should attend."
"Oh she's still working for you? Thought she'd be gone considering the circumstances." Taking a deep breath Kaila answered.
"Well i'm talking to aren't I?" Kaila said through clenched teeth.
"Okay send the invite to my hotel. I'll be sure to show up, been awhile since i've been to a 'Kaila Richardson Party' it's sure to have improved with time."
"Actually this is Vanessa party. That's one person I don't mind sharing the wealth with."
"ooowww BURN!!" He chuckled as Kaila hung up the phone.
Kaila headed downstairs and towards the sliding back doors. "Hey where are you going?" Ricky called to her from the livingroom.
"For a walk on the beach, wanna come?"
"That's a silly question." He shot up and out behind her. The walked for awhile in silence. Ricky looked over to her and took her hand in his.
"What are we doing?"
"Walking on the beach, holding hands." Ricky responded not knowing that's not what she meant.
"No, Your going back home in two weeks. I'll be left here on the island longing for you. We should probably stop while we're ahead." Ricky let go of her hand and stopped walking.
"What are you saying, we shouldn't see eachother because of a little water dividing us." Kaila turned to the ocean that was so calm and inviting.
"To me it's huge and anyone who crosses it is lost until I see them again." She turned to Ricky. "We both won't know what the other is up to. They'll always be questions and we haven't been around eachother long enough to build enough trust."
"Kaila, baby? Ricky said taking her hands. "There is always a way. If you feel as strong for me as I feel for you. You should know you don't have to worry, but if that's the way you feel let's not make decisions right now. Let God guide everything."
"I'm just saying I fell so in love with this island, the only time that I ever go to the states is to my clients there for their parties. I take late flights out and early flights back, just to catch every sunset I can. I wake up early to feel the breeze and the first touch of sunlight kiss my face. I love it here and i'm not going back. You have your life in the states I'm sure you love it there. A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build there nest?"
"How did they meet in the first place? How did they fall in love? Those are answers we may not know not yet. Leave it to God and time baby, please. Let's just enjoy what we have right now. Kaila agreed and looked back at the ocean that had a orange glow as the sun began to set. Kaila started to take off her clothes. "What are you doing?" Ricky looked at her as if she lost her mind.
"Never heard of skinny dipping?" Kaila ran into the water as naked as God placed her on earth. She dove underwater. It's been awhile since Kaila have been this spontaneous. Robert soon joined her and they splashed and played as if they were kids again, care free. Kaila waded closer to shore and knelt down so the water covered her neck. Ricky kneeled next to her. "Sssshhhh, the sunset." Ricky looked up to see the sun setting as if it were going behind the ocean. It was huge a marvelous sight. Ricky looked at Kaila and watch the relaxation and happiness in her eyes. He had a lot to think about. He'd have to call for an extension on his vacation. He needed more time.
Vanessa walked into Kaila's house. "Kaila?! Ricky?!" She yelled out but no answer. She walked to the glass sliding door and saw Kaila and Ricky sitting in the water. She smiled and picked up her cell phone. "Hello Robert, What are you up to?"
"Well the blessings must be pouring down today. Your boss called to invite me to your party Vanessa, impressive throwing parties now?"
"Yeah how long did you think I was gonna sit at the bottom Robert? Well I was calling to invite you to the party too, so I guess i'll see you there then?"
"Hhhmm well sounds like someone kind of misses me eh? Should I look for you personally?"
"I thought you were here trying to win back the heart of Kaila Richardson?"
"Oh she didn't tell you? No i'm here for money. I got something good on her. Want to help me spend it?"
"Maybe, only if your a good boy."
"Not worried about Kaila finding out, What are you up to Vanessa?"
"Well I have talent, i'm planning her party aren't I? Anywayz I'm tired of her bull and if you have something on her, this town's gonna need an new celebrity party planner."
"I have to say, I love the way you think. Sharp."
"I've learned from the best. Lata." Vanessa said hanging up just as the two walked in with their clothes soaking wet.
"Hey Girl, when did you get here?" Kaila said.
"Not long, I didn't come out because of all the X-rated things going on out there. I could only go as far as R."
"Shut up!" Ricky said punching her arm.
Everything's coming together nicely, Vanessa thought grabbing an apple from the fruit basket.
