So, as you all know, I have been on cloud 9999999 [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/inlove1.gif[/img] with the puuuuuuufect man (X) for the last couple weeks right.

Well, up until Sunday, everything has been absolutely great. Wine, dine, talked about everything, laughted at the same jokes, enjoy similar things, I mean, he is a fun, intelligent, corporatethugswaggergentleman. LOL

Well, on Saturday, he said to me that he is really interested in pursuing a "serious" relationship with me, he has not been in one for over 2 years and thinks he has found his equal. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blushing2.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/inlove1.gif[/img]

But...MY FRIEND (who has introduced us and who INSISTED that I go out with him) has told him on several occasions, NOT to pursue a relationship with me, and that he "should just have a good time" with me, because SHE KNOWS FOR A FACT, that I would not be interested.

OK! OK!, so I did say to her that I was not ready to meet anyone, when she first "drove" me to date X, so that I understand.

However, for the past two weeks, I have been telling her on so many levels, how interested I am in X and how she is my guardian angel for insisting that we date, and how I cannot believe the way he has been making me feel...the latest being Thurs night when we met up and I told her alllll about the great time we've been having.

So, I thought I'd explain. I reminded him of the fact that I'd been in a long term relationship up until recently etc., etc., and assured him that I have been enjoying our times together, and I wouldn't rule out anything at this stage, just would like to take it slow.

The shock came when I asked him (in a non-defensive way) when the last time was that my FRIEND said that to him, as it might have been in the beginning...his response was "on friday". [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img]

I have learned from previous incidents to slice and dice what I feed to my friends, so she did not even get half the story. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif[/img] I deliberatly kept a whole lot back but felt the need to let her know that honestly, I liked him and was having a good time with him (more in a grateful way, than a gossipy way).

She asked questions, and I responded selectively...more info for her to feed back to him. LOL

Anyway, I thought she would have at least told him that I was interested, but nope. She said the exact opposite. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img]

They are close, because he is the godfather to her eldest son and best buddies with her hubby.

Zarah a wha kine a misleading title dat you mek mi tink di man do a 180 pon you. Anyway is only two weeks so whenever your friend talk to him will always have been recent and you did say to her that you weren't ready so sekkle you self. You ever thought maybe she don't want the man to scare you off by coming on too strong too soon, is she introduce oonu afterall.

The man is not backing away and whatever she has said has not deterred him so concentrate on this new relationship an stop worry youself about other people.

Zarah, first of all as much as she's your friend she is his friend also and the fact is that you DID state to her you weren't looking for anything long term, therefore she's only looking out for her other friend.

How many times have u had a friend come up to you an profess undying affection to someone and they are falling into their emotions (notice I didn't say love) but you know based on their past and previous statements that this would NOT have the potential to go anywhere but down (and not between the sheets). She's that friend right now.

But on a serious note, do you think you are ready to take such a huge step. If the answer is yes, stop ALL and I mean ALL conversations regarding him to your friend. This is all about you now. Who cares what she has to say but at the same time u can't fault her because her statements are based on past conversations with you.

I wouldn't even bring her up if you are interested show him

Many times women even those that have their own men - feel some sort of possessiveness abotu other men... im close to them, probly gives her attention wen im come around... she loves being the center of her husbands and his attention...

mi had wan so called fren - back inna mi hey day - mi was dating this guy, but the relationship wasn;t going well and all my friends knew I was trying to extricate miself from it...
so one night a bunch of us went out and mi si dis CUUTE guy weh mi did ah eyes off... him eyes mi off to an mi was sure mi woulda get de digits before mi lef...

One of mi fren dem dat I was there with - did have all kind ah criticism fe de guy - she seh im look like a maama man, im look like a big flirt, a wannabe, him nose crookid, im head too big, im teet fayva false teet \o/ - ah mean u name it she said it - mi seh mi nuh bizniz mi still tink im cute an bowlegs dem did ah tek life [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70377-loveeyes.gif[/img]

anyway - the evening was winding down an im nevva mek a move so mi was leaving kinda disappointed - but as mi ah step through the door - im grab mi han an press supm into it -It was his # and a short note... it said...
