I'll start, but it's not a great one. One of my first professional jobs (not in the sense Jazz used it), was at a large firm. Nothing really spectacular happened, but my boss who was the stiffest female I have ever met, managed to have a few too many (I think she took 3 sips of a cocktail), and she decided that our team was not enjoying the festivities, so she got chatty in effforts to make our event more fun, and went to the point of doing what she believed was DANCING! It wasn;t dirty dancing, but it sure muddied my brain [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif[/img] I was never able to see her in the same light ever again. The end.

I have a real bias in that I dont think dancing and drinking should ever cross paths with business. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif[/img] It's too ... something, just totally weird.

So I was more in the mood to be 'elegantly behaved' rather than being 'the life of the party'...but after dem insist..me get up fi dance ...

Lawks...poah ting...from another place...smile and say im cannot dance...

Well, good ting it was a three step so we sway...

couple weeks ago we had our annual client appreciation party it is for clients and sales managers and the company big wigs.

Half way through the party I had to go up to the sales floor to get something for one of the sales guys and I hear noise coming from this guys office. The lights were off in the office so of course I was concerned [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img] So I tried the door but it was locked. Then I heard the giggles and the drunken slurred [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70390-shhh.gif[/img] and I knew exactly who it was and what they were up to ...shameu: so I told one person [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img] the one person I knew would spread it like a Cali wild fire now everyone knows that [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70374-lipsrsealed.gif[/img] was having [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70374-lipsrsealed.gif[/img] with a client in his office [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img] :dwl :

I don't do office parties. This year we started going to the one here but we ended up elsehwere spent a lovely evening together and went home.

this year i stayed only until mi finish eat and left. one woman was so drunk,people were wondering how she got home. she never came in on the friday. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif[/img]

i remember days gone past. the sexual harrasment [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif[/img] the drunken displays on tables. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif[/img]

why do people always do such stereotypical *drunk* things?

one woman rents a room and carreis a cooler full of liquor and after the party is done they continue the party in that room. I mean come on now.

They apparently have it in this fancy schmansy place an go all out 200 bucks a night fi di room yuh mussi mad. Mi an mr. M don't drink so we would feel out of place

The firm in NY where I use to work, at the firm's party, we had a temp. Everybody was drinking eating and having a good time. A few of us, including the boss was sitting at a table and the temp proceeded to let the boss know how much she "liked" him and was rubbing all over him (he was red as Santa Claus suit..finally she got up to go to the bathroom and fell on her booty, everyone started laughing and the boss ask me to take her to the bathroom. Needless to say she never showed up the work after that.

About a week ago, our company had a party to celebrate 1 billion in sales. A definite first-class party with linen tableclothes and napkins, catered by one of the upper-end Steakhouses in the area. After most everyone left, there were about 10-12 of us who sat around chatting, joking with the Pres. of the company, who is retiring in Jan. It's very rare that you get the opportunity to talk to the Pres., so, I decided to hang around. There were several bottles of red/white wine on the table, and the Pres. proceeds to giving away the bottles left over from they party from the party to whoever wanted them. I must say, that this wine was the "good stuff." So, we're all laughing, talking, etc., no one really out of order and the next thing I know, the girl next to me on my right (who just started about 3 mos. ago) starts swigging out of the bottle! I looked at the guy to my left to see if he had saw what I did and his look let me know - we just started cracking up! Then, we both look at the Pres. and he didn't crack a smile or act like he even saw her, but how could he miss it? That was some crazy mess! As my eyes scanned the table for the reaction from the others, it ranged from shocked, to embarassed to smirks to laughing. How you just gonna swig $40/bottle wine straight outta the bottle, sitting at the table with the Pres. of the company? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif[/img] It wasn't like there wasn't glasses available for her to drink out of.

Wednesday is the company Christmas party - more shenanigans to come, I'm sure!

Which reminds me of another funny story about our department Christmas party about two years ago. I wore a Santa hat to the party and was sitting at a table, minding my own business, talking with a few co-workers. I think I was probably working on my 2nd or 3rd Martini when one of the sales reps (one that I don't particularly care for) came up to me said, "so who are you, Santa Claus?" I politely responded, without missing a beat - "do I look like some big, fat white man that's gonna slide down your chimney and leave you a present?" Never at a loss for words, I had rendered him speechless and I'm glad I did 'cuz he always think he's got to be the "life of the party" and thrives on embarassing people. The table cracked up laughing and he just walked away. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif[/img]

Mi know dem very open bout it at dis company caw dem have de beer coolers and keg an annuh nutten fi si de employee AND execs inna de breakroom a sip pon a heineken or corona. But mi cooden bring miself to drink roun dem.
