Are Jamaican men boring to date?

I did it all, wake up & feed babies, change babies, taking them to doctor, and I also the main cook in the house. I don't loathe the symphony or the ballet as I have gone to both before however will not on a regular basis. I will listen to classically music but not a "heavy diet" of it. It is a give an take...my wife know I am a sports junkie and she is not. She will watch a game or 2 with me during playoffs but that is it...

I go to my daughters dance recitals because she is my daughter and that is what fathers do ...but i would be hard pressed to go the any other kind of dance recital .

Well good for you. Checked with my Mom our Dad went to all the shows and performances with us including the Nutcracker, opera, you name it. They wanted us to be exposed to as many things as possible. I did the same for my son. Wonder if he would go to the Nutcracker now...we have not done that in many years but when he was little we did.

see what a taking about nurture..you parents thought it important and were able to afford to expose you to those things. Not everybody is as lucky. My wife takes my daughter to musicals and the like. I dont go..i will drive them and pick them up but i not going.


so what do you think the likelihood of your son coming to like that stuff would be if you had not exposed him to them early on? dont you think he would be wearing a kongol right now

I enjoy music and dance. I find it relaxing to watch. I love the speed of polo. It makes my heart race.

Can you get that in a different setting which would make the person more receptive?

You mean like what on TV?

When I was younger and single I enjoyed going to the movies not for the movie but for the snuggle in the dark and Carib's nachos. Now we turn off the lights and snuggle with great nachos at home watching sports which is important to us. Save the money for going out to eat at our 2 favourite steak houses.

I think we all need to tighten our belts, especially when children come along. Their activities become really important and being the mother of a soccer and hockey mad boy has certainly exposed me to new things. He has certainly learned to share. We have 1 TV and when he comes home if there is something important he will say "Mom I just want you to know the hockey play-offs are on and they are really important. I would like to have the TV on _______ and ______ at _____:00. I will say, okay, Downton Abbey is on at _:00 on _______ and we come to an agreement. I will watch sports with him sometimes and he is the one who got me into watching the Olympics. I guess that will prepare him to compromise with a wife....or buy 2 - 3 TVs I know a family like that. They hav a TV in the living room and one in each bedroom at home and the cottage. No compromising there.

He isn't keen on classical music or African drumming though his Dad is into that. We get exposed to stuff and some things take and others don't. I introduced him to soccer so he would have something to play with the cousins in Jamaica but for the life of me I don't know how or why he got interested in hockey. We never had it on at the house yet he came and asked to pay when he was around 8 or 9.

Di last time mi was at one (many years ago) all I can remember is, after it started is smaddi hitting mi leg fi get outa di row caa it was over an everybaddi was leaving. Use to go tuh di Museums, an plays all di time in NYC, Yes ballet performances also (prefer the Black ones), use tuh love di classics (a music appreciation class was responsible fi dat), also knew of other Jamaicans who did cultured scene, and som of mi school (women) friends dated JA men dat took dem. Doan duh it dat often anymore, live get very busy wid odda tings, but still wi duh dem from time tuh time pan special occasions. Maybi yuh need fi change yuh environment, and di people yuh interact wid. Dere is always ah group somewhere dat fits di category of tings yuh like tuh do, jus depends on how much effort yuh put into locating dem, and yuh openess. By di way, dem not always di highfalutin kinda smaddi eida eida.

No, di ongle keyboard mi play is di computer. Havent drink since mi was ah likkle kid, never liked di taste of it, and had nutten tuh prove.
