I have wondered about that also but since I also have Indian heritage...that they recognize easily...and the Indians themselves compliment me on my carriage...mi noh badda miself no more...

I had nuff friends in University that had arranged marriages and for the except of one, all of them were happy for it. Matter of fact, they pitied me that I had to deal with the whole dating business and didnt envy my so-called freedom. I remember being shocked and a bit offended that <span style="font-weight: bold">they </span>pitied <span style="font-weight: bold">me</span>!

The one that didnt want the arranged marriage is the only one divorced. Mind you her parents didnt pick good for her and she had a terrible husband that beat her incessently

yeh, that light silk, it just falls &amp; drapes just so, feels just as <span style="font-style: italic">nice</span> on your skin. u can't help but feel pretty wearin them . i wish i could wear them to work too, they so dang comfortable. and even the evryday ones are pretty.

nylah the ones with the narrow pants are called <span style="font-style: italic">churidar</span>, or <span style="font-style: italic">churidar suits. </span> I like them much better than than salwar, with those MC Hammer pants.

I love passin the streets with all the saree shops in NY and seeing all the amazing colors flappin in the breeze, like so many silken birds-of-paradise, oh, but i want alla dem!

for these dressy salwar and lengha choli, the shop here usually has only one, in one size, usually teeny. To have one in your size sent from India is 6-8 weeks standard, so yes Shandra I think that long wait is the norm.

boy that kaneesha website is awesome, i wanted this one SO bad for a recent occasion.


but i was nervous about ordering online, even with measurements, after tryin on so many of these and the fit just bein all wrong. i'd be interested to hear how the fit was on yours.

so i went up to north NJ and spent a whole day in an orgy of silk . It came down to just hoping i could find one that fit, without having to send away or go back the next week for alterations. amazingly enough, that one turned out to be.... my exact favorite shade of teal blue.
