LOL! was I just in your office in kingston last week. Ah deh same ting me auntie ask me when i was visiting har. But she had on a knitted long sleeve sweater on. I had shorts and tank top.

ColeS...I know that you are in the Hospitality field....so wasn't sure you were as conservative as mine (Finance).....I mostly have summer basics from gap/jcrew/banana republic.....

the usual colored chinos/khakis is what I wear...

I have had meetings in hot climates...and pretty much stuck to the script...in fact during the meetings/classes at day...it was strict business causal...with closed toe shoes....so for that I choose flat driving mocs...

except for the first nite where we had mandatory networking cocktail hour and dinner... very strict again...on the other nites we were free to sample the local nitelife....and free to break out the nice thongs...with capri pants and fabrics like linens...tasteful halter tops etc...

Geneva, what did you wear to the cocktail hour? I am having dinner every night with co-workers and a cocktail dinner the first night. I have a few dresses that would work but we are talking many days here [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] More than three dresses. The other times I am thinking linen pants and linen capris with heels may be fitting.

I have a couple driving mocs and some low heeled mules if I feel like dressing up a bit.

ColeS...one fabric I know that travels well is jersey...and Ann Taylor as well as the other stores mentioned above carry pieces in that fabric as well..


for the cocktail hour I did black slacks..sling back with heels...and a shell from a sweater set...or white shirt works well for me...then I accessorize(sp) with the color of the shoes...bag...jewellery...belt...it wasn't a fancy restuarant that we went to ...the hotel did the cocktail hour...so I didn't need a "cocktail" piece so to speak...

you can try a strapless dress and use a light shawl while around your co-workers or put a light jacket over it...and then later when yuh ready fi guh session...juss leggo the jacket..

Cole, if you don't already own a couple of nicely fitting sleeveless dresses, buy them tomorrow - preferrably with a little spandex for comfort and to help reduce wrinkling. You can dress them up or down with accessories - jewelry, wraps, scarves, shawls and shoes. If I were you, I would be going with black, white, chocolate brown and spring to lime green....use accessories in those colors (contrasting) plus pink, light blue, and tangerine. Striking and simple is what I would be doing in your situation right now...along with hair and makeup that is as fresh as possible (even if that means simple lipstick/gloss and translucent powder to reduce shine). With your hair, I might be adding a nice hair accessory now and again at night, depending on the occasion. Mind your shoes please...keep them clean and polished! Just kidding, but my Dad always told me that it is one of the first things that he notices about people...isn't that funny? Now, I left you a bag, as I said...I may be able to send a few accessory type things over to be there by WED...interested?
