I used to see chewsticks sold at the culture shop in St. Louis. Never tried one though.

Neutral, the powder thing brings back memories for me, too. That must be a Black thing b/c my Granny used to powder herself up and had the white line down her cleavage. There's a comedian who imitates church ladies (I think it's Ricky Smiley) and he talks about the powder chalk line that all church ladies have.

Speaking of Old Skool stuff, anybody remember Tussy underarm cream? When we were at that age when we 'transitioned' from baking soda to deodarant, we used Tussy. That was the beginners deodarant for Black kids. Wonder if they had Tussy in JA.

The best 'beauty secret' I ever got from Mama was bathing in a warm bathwater and oatmeal. She first did it when I had chicken pox. Now they say it's good for dry skin.
